@@aetherwalker5434 "smite 1 is in the best place it's ever been in" is debatable, the item store is a complete joke for a moba 90% of games you build the exact same items, the engine limits them when it comes to making new mechanics(or so I heard, could be just an excuse) every new god uses the same mechanics with either a dash, a line ability or a circle just look at the new whale or at half the mage roster.

It's not even S1. The build system strongly reminds me of smite alpha, with int + str stats. Alpha was my favourite time of smite, so I'm incredibly hyped

@@TheDeathlyDoctor I was thinking of this too, when you had no item restrictions and you could make all this fun wacky builds. I understand why they did the change, cause back then it wasn't designed for it, you had unintentional broken builds from things the Gods weren't designed for and more complex for new players by punishing you heavily if your meme build didn't work. But this looks more designed for it and the fact so many T1 items builds into a lot of max tier ones so you're not shooting yourself in the foot mid tier with your items.

It is S1. Hi-Rez is a money grab trash studio, they can’t even release a god without breaking the game for 4 months. Get ready to buy the god pass again, all your skins again, battle passes, yea. It’s all about the money. This could easily be a update for S1 but that means they can’t make money off of it. Its amazing the way how anubis bandages from mumify fall of when hitting walls or how they smothly wrap around target like snakes it feels so real and alive. I cant wait for smite 2 its like a whole new game from what I am seeing. Altho I am sorta scared about the graphic card, in smite 1 all my graphics and settings are at max by default but I wonder if it's gonna be the same thing or should I aim for a new card 😅 ... Ty for sharing this experience tho ❤.

I have just started to play smite again after a long time. I was even participating in closed beta back in 2012 (if I remember right). The whole jungle start is so stupid. People are getting toxic over which camp to start and how to exactly execute them... Like bro every other game managed to make it simple but in smite the devs let toxicity take place before the minions even spawned. I'm new to the latest patches and still been made feel like an idiot. Absolutely no need for that. Same with the shards and relics... just stick with the simple "everyone has the same 2 abilities, glhf" . I see the relic thing being addressed in smite 2 so I'm happy to see that but I wonder if they are gonna do something about the overcomplicated jungle situation... I know it's not overcomplicated to people whom been playing every patch but for new players or returning ones it's a HUGE put off.

Okay I am liking what I see. Be honest after seeing the UI changes I was not exited and still want to see the UI go through a few more changes. With that being said I love the jungle I like the fact now the minions do cool attacks. It no long a telegraphs basic attack. Also I like the idea behind the loading screen when picking gods and getting into the match. And with that I like what I see I will be watching and waiting for this.

It definitely appears to be a true sequel rather than a visual upgrade so that’s one of my concerns being lifted. There are quite a bit of changes that were skimmed over in the keynote. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of Smite 1 gods. Hopefully, they all return relatively quickly. I just want my boy Merlin.

I’m pretty sure they went into it and said something along the lines of through the open beta all the way through official release and after they’re trying to get 2 gods a month until the full original roster is in along with the new planned gods. If they tried getting all gods in the game would be delayed back even further (we’re talking years). UE3 to UE5 is a massive jump, can’t expect this big of a character pool to be in from the get go.

There's so many small things that get me excited. I'm not a graphics freak, but when you see something you thought was fine enough look better, it's hard not to enjoy it. But for me it's less the textures and more animations, looks so much more fluid, alive and impactful, same with the VFX. Maybe less so for Anubis but seeing the Chaac gameplay elsewhere his axe swings look SOOO satisfying. The map also looks more fun with the bushes, though might just be me as someone who loves to jungle saying that, but I always enjoyed the bushes in other MOBAs who had them. Can't wait to play Smite 2 and be able to try get old and new friends into it. So many been interested in Smite but dropped it cause it feels overwhelming, and this feels like a good fresh start.

@@aetherwalker5434 I think they said the game hit a plateau on player counts. That means, smite 1 was not getting traction on taking new players. The hopes for me smite 2 is to attract new generation of players, splitting already existing playerbase, is just collateral of the risk. With a new growing 3D games in the market, smite 1 is being left behind in the dust, especially, in terms of playability. Smite 1 unfortunately is always going to be known for its bad servers. It’s a broken game. But they are making a very big risk with these and hopefully it succeeds.
