After how excellent the Mwangi Expanse was, I can't wait to devour and integrate this book into my homebrew world.

Holy crap the Great Flood is horrifying. A mile wide aoe, an affliction that causes drained & doomed and can instantly kill, nine reactive strikes and a 2 action, 160 ft. move that can hit nine times and automatically causes the affliction on a failed reflex save? Flat out terrifying.

The Lost Omens books are my fav from the PF2 lineup. Some are better than others for sure, but I'm hopeful this will be a good one. Looks good so far!

Quick correction - Monster Core does not have stats for Imperial Dragons. Otherwise - amazing content, as always.

Ooh, peeping some of those realm renames. I've heard about Linvarre and I can guess why Tang Mai was renamed, but I do kind of wonder about Songbai? Would love to know more about the design discussions that went into this book!
@bluewilliams49118 ай бұрын
Tang Mai was renamed to have a proper meaning in Thai, because the original name didn’t, and because ‘dt’ isn’t used for the romanization of thai and lao words. Furthermore it was mostly confusing to ask people who can’t speak Thai, Lao, Khmer, Isaan, or a handful of other languages, to try and pronounce the d/t sound that ‘Dtang’ is trying to encourage you to say. However Songbai was is kinda formerly Shokuro and was renamed by the author to reflect the idea that the Tian-Min have a different name for the land from the Tian-Shu!
@SibeliusEosOwm8 ай бұрын
@@bluewilliams4911 Oh cool! Thank you so much! Tang Mai was just a little more involved than I guessed, but it makes so much sense that "Shokuro" would be known by a different name to those who lived there before a random samurai rolled in. Songbai indeed does feel like it fits much more with the rest of the former Lung Wa empire.

Wondering, does the Shenmen section include spoilers for Seasons of Ghosts? Have some players interested in picking this one up, but I was wondering if the book spoil the big twist.

So there isn't any ancestry, archetype or anything at all in the book ? Just a refresh of PF1 lore ? Not even half onis tiefling (hunger tiefling) ? I mean FOTRP has more content than that for players.

The Tian Xia Character Guide comes out in August and it will have the crunchier content you're looking for.

Wow, the original Bachuan lore was bad in how kinda offensive it was, but at least it was interesting. This rewrite is criminally boring. The changes Bachuan have gone through don't even make sense. How does a single figure - Oracle or not - just swoop in, break up a potential civil war before it even starts, debrainwash an entire population, and convert a communist economy into a capitalist one basically overnight. This is lame, and surprisingly not very based for a Paizo book. You think they'd use it to show how extremist figureheads often pervert communism for the gain of themselves and the ruling class, then show how cooperation can be used to heal from that and transition to a just society. Instead they just kinda sweep all the trouble under the rug and erase every smidge of tension or conflict. I guess I'll see when the book comes out, but geez does Bachuan even have any adventure hooks left?
@strangerous13135 ай бұрын
It's called fantasy for a reason. Just play.
@nikidelvalle5 ай бұрын
@@strangerous1313 No. I can't because Bachuan literally doesn't have any adventure hooks to build a game around :P

@@MizakiFelixthe TX:CG will have some archetypes, and 6 new ancestries. Id say its safe to assume there will be new equipment/magic items as well. No new classes are in this book. Our next new classes are in War of Immortals. Paizo staff have implied in q&a’s that there probably wont be a ninja or samurai class in pf2, since the archetypes dont require their own classes to be played. Rogues/monks/swashbucklers should be able to cover the ninja characters fantasy, and fighters (and maybe the upcoming commander class) should cover the samurai fantasy. For a samurai, you could also consider the cavalier archetype. Edit: I forgot to mention the TX:CG also has a magus subclass. Magus could also be a way to play a ninja, depending on how fantastical you want your ninja to be
