Thank you, that plate that you showed that goes inside the fire pot, I wasn’t sure if it went there or not. The directions did not say anything about it. So thanks again.

Hi - does the plate go in with the lip up or down? In other words, should it fit in flush or sort of like a ramp.

You answered my question on the purpose of that firebox insert plate. Thanks much.

Hi John, nice walk around on the smoker. I will be interested to see what you think about porcelin racks over time, having never used anything like that. I run an old version ys640, still going strong. 👍

Great video! Really nice job explaining this grill, and because of your review, I'm going to buy it i think. Where's your cooking video with this?

Just bought as700p. Could not figure out where to connect the light. The manual did not mention this.

Have you tried to add charcoal to the ash catcher. May give tmfood better flavor?

@ManCaveMeals where did you get the aluminum pans?

those came with the grill. I am not sure where to get replacements for those.

Could you please tell me how to connect the light. Where does it plug in.

Looking for a pellet grill that you can taste some of the smoke. Does the higher end pellet smoker achieve this? My tailgater pellet grill really fails to produce any smoke flavor. Good breakdown on this grill John! Curious to hear your thoughts as you smoke the pork butt.
@ManCaveMeals2 жыл бұрын
That is not a problem. It just takes longer times at lower temps. I also loke using hickory pellets in the process.

@@ManCaveMeals Agree that the pellet types make a difference. I tend to use mesquite on mine. I can taste a difference in brand as well. During you live discussions, I need to bring up some questions on another one of your grills that I find intriguing. Thx for the response!

Home Depot says $769 normal price. On sale for $399 - no way is anything like this worth the big tag - but for $400 - I’m excited to do some cooking and won’t be too worried if it dies in a year like my last grill.

Has anyone tried using different pellets for this? And if so did they work ok?

I just got mine home and have the same question. Mine came with a paper that showed their “superior all natural with no additives pellets” - then a metal plate that fits under the igniter for use with the “inferior” pellets. How do I know mine need the plate or not?

@@carguy1312 Ive used Pitt Boss pellets in it and it seemed to do ok.
