First Looks At All LEGO F1 Sets Releasing March 2024

Today we're checking out all of the new LEGO F1 sets releasing in 2024, most of which will be available March 1st. LEGO is releasing sets from Speed Champions, Technic, Icons, and even Technic! The most exciting new release may be the McLaren MP4 from 1988 including an official Ayrton Senna Minifigure. All of the March releases will total around $400 but that number gets a lot bigger if we include some rumored Summer 2024 releases as well.

I think there's a better chance of getting a Ferrari since LEGO has worked with them so much in the past, but I'd love a Red Bull too.

Heeey man, it's been so long! Nice to see you're still going strong! So, about the MP4/4 and the tobaco.... Back when cars still raced with this kind of sponsorship, there were already some countries that had banned to advertise cigarettes (like UK), so, for those races, the cars would display a different wording while still keeping the rest of the livery so it was clear for everyone what brand was being advertised. For example you have the 1987 Lotus 99T (Camel would appear as Lotus), the Lotus 78 changing John Player Special for Olympus, and in other categories you have Rothmans being swapped for "racing" (Porsche 956, MG Metro). And it's a practice that still goes on today, as those liveries have become iconic and official teams still use them (Porsche runs the Rothmans colours, for example). The isue with Marlboro, is that it appears that the triangular shape is also subject to some kind of rule, so while I had no doubt that they'd change Marlboro for either Mclaren or a barcode as they've done in real life with that car, I am disappointed to see the distinctive arrow shape on the front become a shapeless blob, as it's what sets the whole livery in motion. In model cars I've started to see how they round up the tip of the triangle, wich is bad already, but could have worked here. If you ask me, the whole thing is stupid.

That is the Solus isn't it, I didn't even realize. I haven't thought about that car since last year's Speed Champions set but that hill climb footage is sweet.

LEGO motoring enthusiasts are eating good this year! I hear there is supposed to be more speed champions in the summer too! Lamborghini VGT and mercedes g63 and amg gt (thats going to be the best speed Champion set of the year guaranteed)

Lego should just release a full grid!!! Like come on, at least Ferrari, Aston Martin, RedBull, Mercedes and McLaren should be the main ones released. LEGO missing out on a lot of money

all of these are non-exclusive I think (maybe the MP4 is?) so I’ll wait for sales. 20% off after 3 months for speed champions is how I bought them last year. They kept price creeping so I’m not playing their game (much)

I was worried about the f1 Mercedes big set but seeing the photos of it from the side got me excited! I’m betting Lego’s fast burning a new Ferrari F1 technic with the Hamilton news. There’s oddly no news on Carlos Sainz, who is awesome! Enjoyed the video!

The Speed Champions line is my favorite product line at Lego but I have to admit that I skip the Formula 1 cars because there isn't the same diversity in design as their is in the rest of the Speed Champions. Don't get me wrong, I know it's not Lego's fault as they are simply translating the design from reality to Lego. The issue is that unless I am a fan of Formula1, one Formula 1 on my shelf is enough.

what bothers me about the marlboro mclaren is that they have rounded off the border between white and red so it isn't a clear triangle. i can only assume this is to remove anything reminding you of the marlboro branding. i just think it's a pity because the very clear triangle shape is so iconic and i get not having marlboro logos, but could they really not have triangular borders? same goes for his helmet and racing suit. the senna logo instead of the marlboro logo just looks odd. why couldn't they have just had the marlboro logo without the text? or like some replica helmets have, just a white square with a red border on top. that would look much better

that McLaren looks quite a lot nicer than the Mercedes. Is it just the colour or better design? Don’t make me buy those tyres on bricklink to retrofit on the Mercedes..

I can confidently say I know of no rumors, substantiated or otherwise, which even vaguely hint at anything related to a LEGO/Alpine collaboration. (I think there's a better chance of Alpine changing sponsors/colors again before we get any LEGO sets based on their cars or team)
