As a first song they were dropped in the deep end of the Jinjer spectrum! Fortunately they seem as intrigued as they are shocked. Definitely Perennial live and Pisces would be great follow ups. Not quite so shocking but just as impressive.

Most start with Pisces, for the shock value, but you have already been shocked, so don’t see it as i priority.. Teacher Teacher is probably the one to truly hook you in, but then it has to be Perennial... you should do a double with perennial, official first, then see how ridiculously good it’s done live 😮... in regards to lyrics, just have them up for reference...... enjoy the ride....🤘🏻🤘🏻

All 4 of these guys display technical excellence, consistently. Prior to coming across them, I have never entertained the idea of listening to anything with growls & screams.... but what Tatiana does is just plain *undeniable* Their song "Teacher Teacher" won my song of the year for 2019. That one is thick with challenging proggy timings (apart from the relief of a 4/4 chorus) tho, & so can be a difficult first listen if your ear is not accustomed to such.... so maybe go with "Perennial" next- there is a studio version and an excellent quality live version captured at Wacken, & both are great. :)

@billattercliffe8655
@billattercliffe8655 4 жыл бұрын
Try "Teacher, Teacher" next as it may be more to your taste. JinJer often slides between genres and this song has a bit of a hiphop start. However, let's switch gears to a metal genre that may be an easier transition for you - symphonic metal. It's metal music with symphony backing, usually with an epic sound. The top band in the genre is Nightwish, so check out their Wacken Open Air performance of "Ghost Love Score" in front of 82,000 metalheads. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrNep9-jKd0jNE They were the headliners for this festival. The band is from Finland and they have been around since 1996. Their lead singer, Floor Jansen, is from the Netherlands and she is capable of ranging from opera to death growls. "Ghost Love Score" tends toward her classical voice for the most part, so when you hear her soaring soprano voice, just remember that she can also growl like a dude.

Got started on the deep end. Pisces live session and I Speak Astronomy are kinda tied for 2nd and third lightest. Bad Water is the lightest with no growls. Perennial is probably 4th lightest, both omv and the live at Wacken video are great but live gets 2x the views. Some channels have done both versions as a double feature - I'm not greedy haha. WIGBTO live has a huge difference compared to the original studio version. It was originally composed in about 2014 to be played with a rhythm guitarist. After the rhythm guitarist left, most of their older songs they played with the rhythm guitar part on backing tack. This one though they re-composed from the ground up to work with one guitar and a 5-string bass. Also the end was originally more jazz and they turned it into reggae. Overall the song is a call for protest and change and the reggae section brings it together at the end. Definitely worth checking out the lyrics to all their songs, especially this one.

not sure if this has been said, but she said in interviews that she is entirely self taught, and doesn't warm up before singing. so she didn't receive training for it. she just kept practicing and trying, and it evolved over time
@Dark__Thoughts
@Dark__Thoughts 4 жыл бұрын
Usually people start out with the song Pisces, recording within a live session (not to be confused with a live recording like his one). Yes, it is a very specific vocal technique that requires special training, which I think she started to learn when she was 15 years old. And no, you are not actually using your regular vocal chords for that, which would pretty much ruin them. You can do the occasional mix with your vocal folds, but that should always be used rarely. This specific song actually sounds way better in this live version, the original recording is relatively old though. There are a few other songs that I would suggest the live version AND the official videos for, in case you're interested and up for doubles (gonna list the recommended live versions, since the official videos are easy to find / figure out): Perennial live at Wacken On The Top Live in Kiev (the official video is a little odd but the live version made the song a whole lot better for me, so maybe still interesting for comparison.) Pit Of Consciousness Live in Kiev Judgement & Punishment Live in Melbourne Cloud Factory official Live video (not quite the best audio quality, but it is alright) Band members are: Tatiana / Tati on the vocals, Roman on the guitar, Eugene on the bass and Vlad on the drums - but you might see some older drummers and maybe even their previous second guitarist if you go deeper into this rabbit hole.
@watchthesefoolsreact19
@watchthesefoolsreact19 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this... As another person pointed out, we missed nearly half of the song as far as the lyrics are concerned... Definitely impressed with what Tati is able to do with her voice! You are now the 4th person to suggest Perennial (Live at Wacken) and we definitely feel inclined! We intend to get through every request and very much appreciate that you took the time to break this down... I am little confused by what the difference between Live and Live Recording is? Thank you for giving us your time! We hope you're here for good!
@Dark__Thoughts
@Dark__Thoughts 4 жыл бұрын
@@watchthesefoolsreact19 The "live session" for Pisces was them doing a live recording within the studio, rather than each one recording their part in a little studio box at different times and mixing that into a song. It does not mean raw or unedited though, it has obvious studio editing / polishing going on, both for her voice as well as the instruments. The lyrics for this song are pretty straight forward, but generally it might be a good idea to check the lyrics afterwards or in pauses because almost every song has some kind of meaning, some of them being very metaphorical. This song is a call for action against environmental issues and telling people that everyone of us is the one who can do its part, as well as being the first one to step up if something is wrong. If that kind of topic is of interest I could also recommend Gojira, starting with The Gift of Guilt Live at Brixton Academy in London - this band has some very heavy songs though and is generally heavier than Jinjer.

@stevekallio6783 4 жыл бұрын
@@watchthesefoolsreact19 Hey guys intrigued by Jinjer huh? they are a phenomenal band, if you choose to react to more of their songs, you won't be disappointed, each song is different and unique, no two songs sound the same, some are super heavy, some not as heavy, all of them are fantastic. As far as "live" vs. "live session" In their Pisces video, it's called a "live session" because they re-recorded that song when they got their new drummer Vlad, (the same guy who's drumming in this video/ song) and they recorded it together. So it's "live" in a sense because they recorded it together as a band, but it had some post production mixes in it as well. I see most people are suggesting "Pisces" or "Perennial" (Live at Wacken open Air 2019) as your next reaction, both are great so you can't go wrong. Most reactors start off with "Pisces" when it comes to Jinjer because of the "shock" value when it comes to Tati's voice, but you've already been shocked LOL 😄😄😄 Anyhow either one of those two would be great choices. Peace and stay Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

Good call. Trying to make that sound with the vocal cords will hurt. Tatiana is probably using mostly false cord growls here, maybe a bit of fry screams but nobody really knows for sure. Tati is totally self taught in growls and mostly self taught singing, except for a few months of classes in school. She says she watched a lot of how-to videos and practiced for years before starting to perform with growls and had been using growls in performances for almost a decade when this was recorded. They seriously dont have a bad song if you get into them :) You should really try to react to "Perennial" Live from Wacken 2019. Their top performance of all times if you ask me. Hope you keep doing metal music on the channel and if you do, you should also consider symphonic metal. And as to which band i would think of recommending first is ofcourse "Nightwish" They are also way better live than on albums and they put on a show you would never regret watching. Welcome to the world of Jinjer. While they sound amazing live, the audio at some of the shows can be subpar so I recommend sticking to the specific live performances that are requested. Don’t forget their OMVS which are usually fantastic. I recommend “Teacher Teacher” and “Home Back” to start. They wrote Home Back about having to leave their homes in Eastern Ukraine when Russia invaded the first time. I’ll give you a sub and cheers from West Texas!😎🤘🏻

The best shock value comes from beginning with "Picses, live session" and then go to the live performances. You've got the beginning of your first Jinjergasm. Tatis voice use to give that WTF feeling the first time hearing her. THE rest of the band is world class. Just hearing them live, how tight they play. Roman om guitar, Eugene bass and Vlad on drums.Tatianas vocal skills you've already noticed. Metallhead from Sweden They are a Ukranian band originally from Donetsk. They fled/moved when because of the är/occupation.
