Always overbuy strawberry seeds, any you don't use this year you can plant spring 1 next year and get 5 harvests from them instead of the 2 you get planting after the egg festival

This going to sound bad but rabbits are really good to eat them in a stew with some potatoes and some carrots onions on god get some crusty bread and you got a meal right there 😂😂

This is by far my favorite Stardew playthrough at the moment. Can never get enough Walter and Chief :) I really regret that Walter can't snag Marnie away from Lewis or something... she likes 'em old!

If you don't get a glow ring, bring a torch with you mining, there are those floors just before silver that are dark and have the shadow monsters.

Dont sleep on the rice shoots, its free crop ie farming xp, that you never have to water if you place withing 4 tiles of water. and if you ever have a mill it will make your rice so you dont have to buy from the shop :)

I get the joke but in real life mines can be located in urban towns and cities. Especially in the UK. It does make buying houses in those areas a little risky. A special survey is needed to make sure the land is stable.

@@EighmyLupin Yeah but filling the pet bowl adds points to your relationship with your pet. Once you get enough points for that message that says “[pet name] loves you!” you can adopt another pet!

i like to place lights "behind" the house where the upstairs window is so it looks like lights coming out at night. (jack-o-lanterns behind trees and bushes too since they have smaller light and look pretty good like that.

I think given Walters good genes (being so active into old age) Walter's mum is the same. Walter is 62 and his moms 82 and she still bakes cookies and goes to bingo. And is so happy her son is living out his dream on the farm

If you get a fish dehydrator, you can smoke them and they sell for double the price! Thats a money making method I’m trying since the tea saplings price was slashed. I’ve actually seen someone suggest making catfish bait and fishing for that exclusively because they sell for a lot!

"Mum" sending cookies could also be a lovely lady named Lorraine (i adore alliteration can you tell?) Who Walter met while Tallulah was undergoing treatment, Lorraine was supporting her wife Jennifer through treatment and the two couples became friends. Jennifer unfortunately passed just before Tallulah. After Tallulah passed, Lorraine became the "mum friend" to Walter, sending him cookies and knitted sweaters/scarves to help him feel a bit better. This continues after he moves to the Valley, and she is very proud of him. Still occasionally chiding and scolding him for pushing himself too far in the mines when he should be relaxing more in his older years.

Hi Sharky, I've been playing along side with you, and I just upgraded my own backpack and fishing rod. I learned years ago that you can use the C key for better fishing. That's how I've been able to get good at it. Idk where people say it's gotten harder lol.

i didnt start a new farm, i just continued 1.6 with my year 7 farm. now im in winter year 8 (pushing year 9) and ive completed all the 1.6 content. super cool and fun additions to the game. If I had to do ti all over again, id probably star ta new farm like you all did. I just dont want to have to hand water ever again....lol or hand pet my 6+ barns of animals again xD

I'm playing roughly alongside you. I reckon Concerned Ape has made a lot of things just a little more difficult. I had TWO days exactly like yours, where I didn't even get 5 floors. Also there seems fewer worms. And salmonberry season seems not as good. I haven't played this game since the last major update, but I'm sure that salmonberry days were lucrative - there used to be a ton around the map. I'm sure I used to get 50 odd without extras. Now there's barely a half dozen the first day and so on - basically all the bushes used to bare fruit at once, but now the fruit is staggered between days. I don't know why you think you've had bad luck. You've had lucky days. I'm just past the egg festival and I had only TWO rainy days (including the first permanent rainy day). And only ONE day where luck wasn't either perturbed or neutral (and that one lucky day I fished all day and only got ONE chest!). Although this tends to be pretty normal for me. You've been a lot luckier than that.

The bookseller is new with the 1.6 update. She sells skill books, essentially. Reading a farming book gives you Farming experience, reading a foraging book gives you Foraging experience, etc. There are other books she sells, like the one Sharky found, that allow you to see the sell price of anything in your inventory. There are 2 books that permanently increase speed. Her books are expensive, but they’re a great advantage.

I always leave the animals' doors open. Of it's raining they don't go out and doesn't affect them in any way if you leave it open. That way you save on hay because i think they eat it if the door is closed, so being always open they just go outside to eat and do not waste so much food.
