First nor’easter of 2024 hits Nova Scotia, cancelling schools

School is cancelled across the province as the first nor’easter of the year blows through Nova Scotia.
Snowfall warnings are in effect for Atlantic coastal counties from Yarmouth to Sydney, plus Pictou and Antigonish counties.
Environment Canada says a total of 15 centimetres is expected before the snow tapers off beginning Monday afternoon for western counties, and Monday evening for eastern counties.
“Gusty northeast winds accompanying the snow may cause reduced visibility at times in blowing snow over exposed areas,” it said. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”

I was driving through Windsor on the 101 while taking someone to the airport. It was terrifying driving through the whiteouts and then dealing with all the idiots in half tons who still want to go 110-120 kph while others are driving 70 or 80 with their hazard lights on. Better safe than sorry, I know many many people who have met an untimely death because of the dangers of driving carelessly

And in my own personal opinion,And I always prefer the always warm weather recorded at 13 degrees Celsius that we experienced for a while here despite of the many days of rain fall that occurred here in our super natural,interesting and scenic Pacific Northwest Canadian major city of Vancouver,British Columbia's regional district called our home city of Richmond ( Island City,By Nature ),British Columbia.And I don't mind many days of rain happening here all the time,At least,We don't have to shovel them.And considering and knowing that we also experienced " a rare Arctic blast snow storm " almost two weeks ago where we received 20 c.m. to 25 c.m. of snowfall here.And that's considered a lot of snow here in our Canadian Province of British Columbia's South Coast and West Coast.
