Ive done pretty good so far. A road trip across the states is on the list. I would like to take a couple of years to do that. Starting in DC and probably finish in Seattle. I visited Joshua springs a couple of years ago. I would love to go back in late spring when the desert is in full colour. Lots of cool country here in NZ but no desert. My current project is a 4 year old daughter so the road trip will have to wait a while.

Although this dragster she drove is very fast, but a stock superbike right from the factory is as fast, and you can drive it legally on public roads, it really give u a clear perspective on how bikes are insanely fast.

My first time launching an 11 second car (which didn't take long to feel slow) was pretty shocking, don't feel bad that it caught you off guard at first. Let alone in a 9 second "car"

on a bike it gets smoother as you go faster. Here it looks like a football sized wheel is all you have to handle the steering looked a bit much. This seems harder to do.

I think it's because it doesn't burn fuel as efficiently so the fumes escape through the exhaust or something and light on fire.

Say what? The dragsters in this video are for "newbies", and they have small block Chevy engines. They are very slow compared to their full-out 8,000 horsepower Hemi-powered top fuel dragster cousins, which run the quarter mile in about 4 seconds at about 300 MPH.

The old adage "we fear what we do not know" .. Elana needs to get in a healthy V8 pickup and hit some gravel/dirt country roads or grass fields and practice sliding the truck and recovering from loosing the rear, steering with the throttle. Once you become proficient at that there's no freaking when the vehicle slides or the rears break loose on the pavement.. it's just old school skill progression and practice.

The HEMI engines, I hate to say this, could do with more efficiency. Given their huge displacements , their power output is actually abysmal and 4 seconds for a 'car' so small and relatively light , is not impressive . I love these cars and the sport , don't get me wrong , but if the Italians had a hand in this, it would have been truly insane.

V10s or V12s whichever you're thinking of are damn expensive especially for a sport like this where I'm guessing you have to continually use new engines. Even Formula 1 uses V8 engines atm.

I'm surprised they'd be running race fuel at all. It doesn't take that much power to run high 9's with a dragster. You could make plenty of power and save the money wasted on race fuel. It'd also be interesting if they let her make a run in a faster car, or at least showed more than one full pass to see if she got quicker.
