Continuation of the Wimberley Birding Society trip to High Island, this morning we combed the marshes around Shoveler Pond at Anahuac NWR for waterbirds! Great morning despite the wind (and me not realizing you need to turn the wind reduction setting ON in my new camera...), and got some very good looks at hard to find birds. The next video will finish off the day as we visit the Gulf Coast, Bolivar Flats, and the Smith Oaks Rookery!

Great video. I want to go there during fall migration. Where is a góod place to tent camp

I believe you can camp free at Smith Oaks in the picnic area for up to 3 days. They usually require you to take down the tent each morning, but I'm not sure if they are as strict about it in the off season as they are during spring. You can contact Houston Audubon for more info. Otherwise, you can camp on the beach right down from High Island, just get a $10 beach parking permit from any local gas station or grocery store.
