FIRST PRACTICE OF THE NOVICE 23 TEST | Riding with Charlotte

Welcome to a new video! Ahhhh so I was originally entered for my competition in both Prelim classes to qualify for summer Area’s but we ended up qualifying for the finals in April so my trainer and I decided to bite the bullet, withdraw from one of the prelim classes and jump straight into my first Novice!! Gahhhhhh we haven’t done any medium trot, medium canter or give or the reins training up until today. This is the only training I have time for before the show which is SUPER scary! Wish me luck!!

Congratulations for the finals, don't worry about Monday, it's not like you don't know how to ride! At least Vossi can't anticipate anything!! 👍Just be "present" on each part and actually ride the movements, you're getting so good, just remember why you're doing this! And please enjoy yourself, you both deserve it! ❤️

girlll, breathe! You've got this! You and Voss know how to s-t-r-u-t !! In your medium canter try to relax in your body and go with it more, move your reins with the movement to encourage the hind end to move further underneath him as you extend the stride. Plus it will help with relaxing him, it looks as if you're trying to micromanage the canter but he can't physically extend if you're doing so!!

Yeah the terminology gets people far too worked up 🤣 but yeah, it’s not THE Nationals, but it is still A National championship. Nationals is the right terminology for the regional route, Area Festivals championship is correct for Petplan…but honestly as grassroots riders, this is nationals to us so we can damn well call it what we want!
