Thanks for watching, and I completely agree. Please watch the opening of my next video out this week. I address the infrequency of video releases in the beginning of the clip. Is it a legit reason, or just a lame excuse? The answer is "Yes"! (Thanks for watching again, and I really am trying to up the frequency!) G

I think I just got my first prolapse because I fed chicks and younger quial to an adult condro who's only eaten mice pretty much his whole life. not a big meal but I think the prey items were so young that they hadn't developed enough of what my condro needed. Definitely was the prey item switch 😤

Hey Gary I don’t know if you mentioned this in a previous video, though I’ve seen them all and don’t think you did. Do you heat the room you keep your chondros in? I would assume the heat panels aren’t heating the cages enough to raise overall ambient since the hot spot is only 83F. Just curious!
@gsreptiles56062 жыл бұрын
Hello, and thanks for watching! While my room has vents for central air and heat, I block the vents because (due to the heat panels, heat tape, and lighting), my room "naturally" stays at right around 72 degrees. Hope this helps!
@user-zj9ow6vl1m2 жыл бұрын
@@gsreptiles5606 Yeah just curious! My main snake room stays heated throughout the year between 77-82 depending on the heat cycle during each part of the season to cycle my boas. So I’ve been trying to decide if I want to set some chondros up in that room or just set up a wall of cages in a different room that stays around 70. Just not sure if the heat panels will keep the cage parameters as dialed in. If it works for you around 72 ambient I can probably make that work

Yikes - didn’t realize, thought I saw them on there a couple months ago. I use vivarium electronics thermostats (little funky at times) but does the job for what I need it to. Had a hard time finding those even few months back looking for a ve300x2… damn Covid manufacturing issues

Does this only apply to snakes? Or other reptiles too, such as geckos for example? Do you mean regular sugar, like we humans use? And perhaps it would have been wise of you to say that people who experience this should contact a reptile knowledgeable vet. There are many young people who have little experience. So it's important that they don't just listen to everything they see on social media. Greeting from Norway! 💚 (About only 5 years ago reptiles became legal here). THANK YOU for this video! 🤩
@gsreptiles56062 жыл бұрын
Yes....plain ole' baking/everyday sugar. Also, Vets rule!!! I totally agree! (But not in every case. I also mention in this very video when you should take your animal to a vet.) Thanks for watching, Anne-Lene!

@@gsreptiles5606 Good 👍😃 We are starting to get better here in Norway. Luckily!😇🥰 Learning a lot from people like you. You seem very knowledgeable about snakes, especially the green tree python. I like - Thumbs up👍

I like to soak them in diluted chlorhexadine to clean off the prolapse. It's antibacterial and antifungal. It's what we did at the vet clinic.
