Been listening to these whilst working. I like to have something like this to listen to when working so thanks for that. I have had a lot of years experience with art and commissions but until august last year, I always had a part time retail job as well which I hated with a passion. I finally took the plunge last year and went full time artist...so I'm still in early days and now in a position that I am forced to learn a lot of new things that I didn't have to do when I had a retail job.

Great video. So many people do not realize the toll not being able to be a full time artist takes on those who missed a step. I would never exchange the family I raised, but few people realize the agony of not being able to draw and paint for hours a day. Don't stop, don't settle. Love your work. Thank you.

and yeah, the anxiety thing afflicts me too..hence listening to podcast and things like this when I work..stops my thoughts going in the wrong direction too much...

I appreciate your videos. I came here after seeing you on Andrew Tischler's channel. Was interesting interview, first time I also had seen any of your work. I can relate with 'struggles of an artist', as someone else who draws I love your work. And after watching Andrew's channel I have recently again picked up a paint brush after a 10 year hiatus!

I started out drawing horses for the same reason- I was trying to fulfill my dream! I couldn’t have one, so I immersed myself in drawing them. My heart totally relates to yours!!! I was also the crazy horse girl in school 😆

I'm that crazy horse girl at school too! And I am told the same thing about getting a horse so we got the same start into art!!

🤔 Hello again Bethany. Love this video. I think it is so frank and open and honest and brave to share your story and your journey as an artist. By the way I wonder if you are an ENFJ personality type? If so how do you cope with the pressure of becoming a public face on youtube and elsewhere? Also, what type of pencils and other tools do you use to achieve that amazing level of realness in your work 👍 you should be aware that what you have as an HSP is a perfectly natural trait and I am one of those people too facing the same fears and yet wanting to take my art to a higher level too. I am so grateful to you for sharing this video.
