Hey, so here's the promised explanation for both songs lol First of all some overview on her music: I've been a crybaby (that's what her fans are called) since 4 years now and her music has helped me alot and made me realize I'm beautiful the way I am and feel comfortable in my own skin, In her debut album "CryBaby" she plays a character called "crybaby" who is a dark and twisted version of her childhood (her own childhood was great, according to her) so these songs are based on her personal experiences, not all tho like dollhouse, her mother was not a alcoholic nor did her father cheat on her mother, she just took a example of a dysfunctional doll family and added a dark and twisted message to it. Ok so here is the explication for both songs (read them fully to understand well and it look me a long time to write lol): 🌟Dollhouse: (Her debut single) ⭐Theme: Dollhouse is about a family that appears to be perfect on the outside looking in, yet it's far from it. In Dollhouse, Cry Baby's mother is an alcoholic due to her husband’s infidelity, and her brother has been engulfed in the life of drugs. The daughter, who is named Cry Baby, is the only one that sees the tragedy surrounding her. Her family is visualized as the dolls living inside of a playhouse that belongs to a little girl. Since the daughter knows the truth about her dysfunctional family, she narrates the song in an attempt to get the girl to see and understand her reality. The real life song meaning of this song is that: how people view celebrities. In an interview, Melanie said, "People put them in glass boxes and think they are perfect and when something happens that shows when they are humans, people don't like that." ⭐About the music video: The music video takes place inside a dollhouse, with a little girl playing with it. It shows Cry Baby's family in their various roles. For example, it shows that the dad is gone in the beginning, having an affair. The son is smoking cannabis, and the mom is passed out on the couch. During the line, "Picture, picture, smile for the picture", the family poses for a picture, and then return to their activities. After the second chorus, the little girl appears inside the dollhouse and Cry Baby sings to her. Soon after, she appears back outside the dollhouse and runs away afraid of the reality of the picture perfect doll family. 🌟Pity Party: ⭐Theme: This song revolves around Cry Baby inviting her friends (including Beth Anne) and a boy she likes, Johnny, to her birthday party, but no one has shown up. She begins to wonder why she puts so much effort into everything just to be alone at the end of the day. The "heart on every cursive letter" lyric shows how she regrets doing something childish to invite her guests. It makes her seem immature and is doubting whether little personal touches like adorning every invitation won't get other people to attend her gathering. She is blaming herself for the absence of her friends. She tries to lessen the pain that she is enduring by telling herself it's okay because she gets all of the cake since no one else is there. She also says forever, which may mean she expects this to happen every following year. A turning point of her emotions is referenced in the lines, "I'm laughing, I'm crying, It feels like I'm dying". No one came to her party, so she is very emotional and can't control it. She doesn't know whether to cry or laugh it off. Her sanity is slipping away. Finally, in the end, she decides that she is her own person, without anyone else. She can do what she wants, even cry, and doesn't have to deal with cultural differences. ⭐About the music video: The music video begins with Cry Baby writing and sending invitations to her birthday party while eating milk and cookies. Then, it flashes to the day of her party in August. She wakes up in a pink dress. None of her friends are showing up, but she does activities to keep her busy. She gets more upset with them, and no one answers the phone. She decides that she doesn't need friends there to have fun, and dresses in an outfit that makes her look like a clown. Cry Baby then makes a balloon animal, but her stuffed animals watching are not pleased. She pops the balloon by eating it and rips her stuffed animals. She screams loudly while throwing her other stuffed animals away and destroying almost everything at her party, including a blue cake. In the end, Cry Baby blows out the candles to a cake that reads, "Happy Birthday Cry Baby" and then starts to smoke a cigarette. Fun fact (Ik it's random but) billie eilish pitched sounds exactly like melanie martinez XD

This is actually from her album called "Crybaby". It's a concept album about a character named Crybaby. She done a music video for every song from the album. If you want to go in order, it: Crybaby Dollhouse Sippy Cup Carousel Alphabet Boy Soap Training Wheels Pity Party Tag, You're It Milk and Cookies Pacify Her Mrs Potato Head Mad Hatter She has 3 bonus tracks that have no music videos but if you want to check them out, they are Play Date Teddy Bear Cake Also, before she released her album, she released an EP which included Dollhouse and Carousel plus 2 others Dead To Me Bittersweet Tragedy And lastly, for Christmas in 2015, she released a single called Gingerbread Man.

Soap is about saying something embarrassing to her crush (Johnny) and training wheels is either a confession, or her taking off his training wheels either emotionally or sexually.
