This short news item reports on a new journal article stating that the first reference to ADHD in the medical literature can now be pushed back to 1753 as the authorsled by Michiel van Kereebeek found a text in Latin by Dutch physician A. Kloekhof that describes a condition very similar to ADHD. Previously the first known reference to ADHD was in the German medical text by A. Weikard. So ADHD has now been shown to have a history of more than 270 years in the medical literature.
