The heartbreak of being released from a pin for a life changing HBO role was the worst pain I’ve ever experienced 😭 But still, getting a pin is a win!

Great topic. For me, as far as film/tv, near 100% on pins here too but only about 30% for avail checks. First refusals for commercial are an even lower %. Also, Ingulii/Sefick used to do something called "In Consideration" for a tv/film role which is similar to an avail check, but I'm not sure if that's still a term that they employ.

Yeah with Avail Checks happening much earlier in the process, it stands to reason there are more actors in the mix, thus lower percentage of bookings. And Jackie Burch likes actors to know when they've been "passed along to producers", but just as feedback (which is so nice!).

I used to freak out when I would get these my first couple years in now whenever they ask me I just say yeah sure and move on it's the most freeing and rewarding thing you could probably do as an actor is to act like you don't give a s*** because if you sit around and dwell on it you're going to go crazy and you're going to lose your edge it doesn't help you at all. If you end up getting the job great no harm no foul but if you don't you should also have that same feeling

What’s the politics of getting representation from multiple markets? Do you have to live in the area to work there? Tips on getting signed?
@GetTaped3 жыл бұрын
No politics really. As long as each agent knows what region they are responsible for, there is no problem having reps in different markets. Because of COVID, you currently MUST live where you work. There are RARE exceptions. Just never lie about where you are to anyone. It’ll end badly. As for getting signed, training training training.

What does shortlisted mean? After one audition for a big Netflix film I have been shortlisted and casting said they will let me know when they know more? Can you please explain? Thank you 😁
@GetTaped3 жыл бұрын
Like all the other weird terms, it’s good news, but has no contractual implications. So it’s likely that casting has narrowed their favorites to you and maybe 1 or 2 others. The director may have another choice in mind, though, and of course Netflix might override everyone. But just know that no matter what happens next, there’s nothing else you could’ve done to increase your chances. You did your job! Because in the end, it’s a miracle when we do book because SO MANY people have to agree on it.
