I’m really enjoying your videos! You’ve been a huge help to me as I’m planning to start my 2nd set of locs myself…debating between small finger coils and small two-strand twist method. I noticed 2 things in this video and the other retwist video…1st you don’t retwist all the way down and 2nd the hair isn’t saturated/soaking wet…is it damp or totally dry or does it matter? Thanks!

Beautiful work! I am really appreciative of all the knowledge you are sharing. I have an appointment on the 29th to begin my Loc journey. I definitely know now to get the barrel twist style. I do want to know can it be done on coils as well. I don't remember hearing the answer already. Thank you so much.

Hey I’d like to know if you’re working on damp hair or do they sit under the dryer after there wash before you retwist? And if they choose not to get a retwist and just want to wash it would you recommend letting it air dry or sitting under the dryer?
@CourtneyGrayton2 жыл бұрын
I work on damp hair and if they just get a wash, they must sit under the dryer to prevent mildew

I second this question. 👍🏼

Can I ask, what is the average cost associated with keeping up on locs & locs with styles? 2) And can I ask why you don’t disclose the hair products you like to use, like the light weight butters, in the videos you’re using them in? It’s just soooo much easier if you just tell us out right or mention it in your notes below the current video your using them in, what product you’re using. Otherwise, I don’t know which video to look for TO find out the better products to use to keep my hair moisturized Or You could add a link to this video that links us to that separate video where you share info about the products you use. We would be very grateful. 🙏🏼😘🙏🏼

Got it.

Hi Courtney, question: Since the butter cream your using is to moisturize the clients hair, do you not use a light weight oil to help retain that moisture before the client leaves? If not - ( since you don’t show that you do in the vids - then when would you ‘Oh Baby’ or another type of light weight oil ? 2) Also, could you show front view of clients hair style, as if looking at a picture from a magazine … like what the style looks like head on as well as how you already do - the sides & back view. This would help us tell if the style would suit our particular face shape or not 😉👌🏼 Ps. You’re doing a fantastic job!!

The butter is the oil! & sure, you should be able to find that on my instagram @hairgoalswithcg

That was a beautiful style, you did a great job with her hair. When you are retwisting, why do you not go to the end of her locs? I am thinking about starting my loc journey and just researching. I like the neat uniformed consistency all the way through, even at the end. The frizzy end is what I am trying to avoid. Thank you
@iona65582 жыл бұрын
I read that going all the way to the end causes thinning in the long-term
@joyjohnson87762 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the information. I will avoid that with my locs when I start them.

Hi! I have a question. So when your starter locs are two-strand twists, they end up getting coiled with every retwist?
@CourtneyGrayton2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean, but I used the palm roll/comb retwist method

Yes

I am debating on changing stylist, when I go for my retwist my starter locs are puffy and frizzy (a look I personally enjoy). When she does my retwist, she retwist my entire loc making them skinny again as though I just had them "installed" is this normal or standard as I see you focus mainly on the roots. My stylist literally takes the comb and twist the roots, places the comb further down and retwist, and repeats this process until the loc is pencil thin
@CourtneyGrayton2 жыл бұрын
You’ll be fine. She’s trying to manage the frizz. You can ask her not to, but essentially it’ll help your locs bud faster! I’m sure it doesn’t stay that clean for long after your retwist.

About to drive to Maryland. I can’t find anybody in Philly that can do this. They keep saying I have to lock my hair first 🤦♂️
