my son and I just put one of these back together. we bought it needing a rear valve cover gasket. today was the first day on the road with it... its a BEAST!!! Wholy cow,, im impressed.. I don't think I'm going to let my son buy me out of my half, lol... HB

These seem like the best bike for cornering, that nobody owns, my cousin used to take his Buell down to West Virginia and tear up the twisties. Keeping up with him seemed like a daunting task, considering what he was riding. These bikes are quick, nimble, and light.

It's a great bike, I used it daily for awhile until I upgraded again. It will smoke any bike off the line if you can keep the front end down lol and it's really nimble/easy to handle on curves. In person it sounds like a tuned up Harley. Wayyyy louder than the Japanese bikes and has a lot more bottom end/mid range power and will still go 150+ easy

Nice video. I'm looking at a 2002 buell 1125. Checking out videos. It is carb not fuel injected. Is the carb model still liquid cooled? Do you know ? An I agree gxsr is fastest street bike. 600 to 1000cc. They are cheap an u have a hell of a bike. I use to have 3 or 4 of them

They didn't make a 1125 in 2002, they were introduced in 2008 I think so it's more than likely a firebolt or lightning but most buells are fuel injected and air cooled from that time period. And thank you! When I talk about speed I'm talking about the power it has, the weight, how it's geared, the rev limiter, etc and how that affects it in a street race (10/10 people are racing at stoplights or highways) so when people argue the "track rider having multiple championships" point of view it's irrelevant to me because most people don't ride on a track and just because a bike it easier to throw around and corner doesn't mean that bike mechanically is faster by any means so the Aprilia, Ducati, etc dick riders points of views are irrelevant because I promise a Gsxr 1000 will smoke those other bikes and those bikes are insanely expensive for absolutely no reason at all so how could you even compare the two considering that standpoint? 😂 My 13' busa is in a different category of its own as well but that's a whole different conversation that most 1000 and lower boys don't want to talk about lol. Don't get me wrong, if you take a busa and you take a Gsxr 1000 and do the exact same upgrades more than likely the 1000 will win by a little in a 1/8 or 1/4 mile race only because of the weight difference but nothing touches those big big boy bikes once they get to high speeds.

I like how people always say "Gixxer killer" yet....Suzuki isn't even in the top 3 of most GP wins. Honda, MV Agusta, and Yamaha are all ahead. Gixxers aren't all that.

It's not all about the bike, it's about the rider. Gsxrs literally are the fastest sportbike in the 600-1000cc (true 600 and true 1000) class and there isn't an argument there. Look at the spec sheets and dyno runs and tell me differently. Like I said it ultimately comes down to the rider if you're talking about any type of racing. I can smoke my buddies busa with a 250 dirt bike I have but that doesn't mean my dirt bike is faster than his busa, he just can't ride like me 😂😂😂

And clearly you don't ride if you're saying gsxrs aren't the fastest lol. Ask any rider beside bias people and they will tell you if you want performance pick Suzuki, if you want reliability pick Yamaha or Honda. If you want looks pick whatever you think looks best. But I've never met any true rider say gsxrs aren't the fastest because I promise you they are.

A lot of those guys in GP do not get to pick their bikes, they Ride whatever brand gives them the best sponsorship contract

@@123456789robbie1 Almost every pro who's a star can choose their brand. Anyone will sponsor them. I've been riding for decades. And there's a reason why Suzuki isn't at the top of that list. They're always in the same races, but they're getting smoked by everyone else. GSXRs aren't the fastest bikes.....It's a known fact. That's all "street talk" the "old legend" if you will. But they are not the fastest bikes. Hell there's even a video of a Buell beating a GSXR in a grand prix with the 1190RS. That's quite old. Ducatis kill GSXRs all the time, same with H2s, and numerous other bikes. The only reason GSXR has the name it has is because you can pick them up for dirt cheap. If they were truly as fast as people like to believe they are they wouldn't be the cheapest used bikes you can find. When Suzuki starts winning more GPs,supers,TTs, than every other brand, they'll start to get my respect. But ask yourself, why, if the GSXRs are so good, do so many TT racers never choose to use them? They're extremely inexpensive, it would only make sense that guys who have to buy their own bikes for racing, would use them. Especially serious riders. Sorry mate. They're not all they're cracked up to be. I'd pick Yamaha, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, BMW, MV Agusta before a Suzuki....all those companies have way more wins

You literally just proved your point. Suzuki as a brand is cheap and inexpensive so why would they bid higher than other companies on sponsorship deals. Yes the riders choose their sponsors but why would they pick cheap ole Suzuki if Honda or Yamaha is going to pay them more? The best riders in the world pick brands that will respect them and give them what they need and Suzuki is sub-par. You're just talking about curves and the other things GP has to offer. 90% of people don't take their bike to the track and when they talk about performance they're talking about on a straight and there is literally no argument saying that other bikes are more powerful because they just aren't. Like I said at the beginning it all depends on the rider.
