It's been a few years since I rode, but sat on a new YZ250F the other day. The ergos felt a little better, but damn that seat is stiff! I've been riding since 1988 and stand mostly, but still. New seat for sure.

You said you need to take it to more tracks. I wanted to suggest Wicomico Motorsports Park in Maryland. It’s my local track and it has come a long way under new ownership track is getter better all the time. It’s fun and has challenge to when ruts get formed. Congrats on new bike btw thats a sweet machine.

Congrats on the freshie! Does the frame have a “break in” like the KTMs? I rode a 24 250f a few months back and it’s crazy loud compared to my ktm with that airbox up front. The thinner shrouds feel way better than the previous gen.

Thanks dude. I'm sure it has somewhat of a break in period on both the frame and suspension but I don't know for certain. These yamis are definitely LOUD I can barely hear my own thoughts while riding 😆

I have a 24 yz250f, stock exhaust chokes it on high revs, recommend you to replace to full yoshi or fmf and install a twin air intake filter, it will feel much better

Yup, '22 gave me less confidence in corners. It likes to push or tuck in a turn down. I fixed every issue with a 300SX. YAT

@DerekHallman Thanks, but 60 amazing hrs later and the fancy tech has her parked. I'm back to ripping my 200SX w/YZ front end. BTW, me and Ken go back a few years from helping him tune his 125. Hey, maybe test his new YZ with the HITLIS power valve mod kit. The company has a rock solid YZ guru running it. Cody Webb using it after moving to Yamaha. Continued success brahda.

Just sold my 23 250fx for a 25 250x I loved the 4 stroke was a short and sweet time with it but I just didn’t feel the fun factor with it. Was almost too easy to ride, If I could have a second bike it would be a 250f

That is the same bike that my brother has and the seat was to round and it fractured his tale bone,after he crashed for the first time so we had to get a new seat

I am 6'3 and I like the rider triangle. I will try lowering the pegs and a taller seat though. That always makes it more comfortable 😁

Thanks! I think it feels faster than the KTM except the very high rpm. Yami suspension is better in my opinion and it corners amazing.

hey derek, I have a question, in the future i want to get a brand newish bike. Currently I have a wr400f and I like it, but I really like these new 250s, Would you say for a new track rider but not new at riding straight on flat ground, should I get a ktm 350? which is about the same power as my wr400, or would I still enjoy and most likely not outgrow the 250?

Aye, honest opinion frm you. Ive scouting out this nice honda cr250, big bore kit (im a fricken madman for big wheels), the whole lineup. Problem is, offer doubled down to 6k. Do you think its worth if i js buy a whole set, or if i just buy each piece indivvidually?

how the chassis compare to your KX ?

I think it feels way better than my KX all-around. Everyone prefers different things, but for me the YZ has a better engine, suspension, rider triangle, and now chassis. My 21 KX250 had a better chassis than my 22 YZ250F, but this new 25 feels better for sure.
