@@Tinkey1993 ich habe eine Tastatur und seit Ich 12 bin, fuhr Ich trail und heute habe Ich noch 2xCr500 und CRF450 , wie aus dem EI gepellt . Die Motoren der 2takter sind allesammt zerlegt und innen optimiert und hochglanzpoliert (Kurbelgehäuse auch) . Wenn jemand etwas über 2takter weiß , wovon Ich mehr hatte und ALLE aufgebaut , als Ich zu Zählen vermag ! Du hast Mich nicht angesprochen , aber Ich wollte nur mal anmerken , das es im INET LEUTE gibt , die entwickeln MOTOREN in ihrem KOPF und bauen diese dann ! In seinem vorherrigen Video schrieb Ich zum Beispiel , wie man eine 500er STARTET (2takter) und das Seine Maschine KTM Frühzündung womöglich hat und das aufgrund eines zu kurzen Metallstifts bei der Zündung - Zumindest ist dies der Fall bei einer meiner CR500 mal geweworden ., Aufgrund der Frühzündung , explodierte das Gas im Zylinder noch beim Kickstarten - Diese Kraft Kickstarter und Zündexplosion zu früh ergaben , daß das GEHÄUSE des Motors zerbrach , an der Stelle , wo die Kickstarterwelle verbaut ist . Es ist ALSO ERFAHRUNG die ICH weitergebe und Ich hoffe auch so ist es bei ALL den ANDEREN KOMMENTATOREN ! Und jetzt schaue Ich mir das Video an :-) Ich laß zuerst die Kommentare .

Instead of trashing this nice old school KTM..Listen to some veterans and do what's right for these bikes..Invest in tools you don't have and maybe some knowledge that you obviously don't have to help these poor conditioned bikes you for some reason keep wasting your money on..You always do a leak down test on a bike first..Go through a bike complete before beating the crap out of it..Not sure why you bought this in the first place..It will take a few grand to just get the bike solid to be able to ride..Sounds like it has a massive air leak and running very lean..That's a sign not to go ripping down the road on it...This is why that bike was so cheap to buy..This bike needs a complete restoration..

I try replacing the intake boot an rebuild the carb back to factory setting an go from there, if that don't fix it do a leak down test on it an make sure the main bearing seals an center case gasket is good. If that center gasket is bad it will run the same way sometimes even worse

Thomas Fiedler He needs new crank seals, probably a top end (chucks inspection of "barley any scratches" doesn't sound right), and a new intake and gaskets. That's just a start. Rear shock looks like a pogo stick too as he even mentioned

Definitely has major air leaks. I told him in the first video, that the whole engine needed a complete gasket set. It's leaking oil and air everywhere. It really just needs a full restoration. It's a great bike to start with, but Joe will ruin it, I'm sure.

Guys those 500s from that era were fast, but they had there problems too. You definitely need to replace the cracked intake manifold first. It will need a new set of reeds while you are in the intake. They have a lean surge at idle because the Bing 54 carburetor has an aluminum slide that wears out and allows it suck air when throttle is closed. Lastly KTMs in general from the 80s had horrible brakes, especially when they get hot.

The oil probably not be pressure. Pressure can build in the transmission if the breather pipe was stopped up, but that could blow out the shift shaft seal or counter shaft seal, etc, cause an external leak. If we are talking excess oil in the crank case, could be just that the bike set for awhile and fuel/oil leaked past the petcock, filled the bowl and ran through the Reed valve into the cylinder. Also check the floats. Oil could have gotten past the clutch side seal into the crankcase from the transmission. Watch the transmission level. You'd want to replace both the mag side crankseal and clutch side if you find a leak. It is good practice anyhow to avoid leaks, but not necessary. Might be the bike hasn't been run hot or long enough and needs a good flogging to clear out. It will run lean and not want to idle right with bad reeds or bad dry side crank seal. I'd bet the mag side crank shaft seal, they do go bad after awhile. Or could be stopped up jets in the carb. Lean could also be leak in the exhaust manifold gasket or missing silencer. Nevermind, looks like you found the leak at the end of the video.

Needs the carby jetted properly and overhauled plus to run a full synthetic 2T race oil at 50:1..then get ready to change your undies and hold on for dear life when you crack her open...My same bike is always a rear death experience every single ride,and its a Honda CR500 killer too in stock trim..especially top end speed.

Its a very cool bike. things to sort out but its going to be sweet. i would put some modern ktm bend bars on it. it will feel way better.fix front axle. why are the pinch bolts not holding axle tight? humm? fix manifold, if still lean condition do leak down like others said and do complete low end rebuild. i think you might get lucky on the bottom end as the bike looks like it has low hours. and rebuild/ service suspension FRONT and rear... have fun guys !! good job getting it running. its a cool bike. will be super fast corner to corner and probably pretty surprisingly stable.. euro bike were always know for being tall and super fast straight line. not as good cornering and jap. still sweet though just different style...

Leak down test to find if it has leaks before you take it out for a "rip"

Nice Bike !!! Friend has one . The power is similar to Cr 500 but the white brothers full suspension they come stock with is crazy plush . For a $1000 I’d keep it forever it’s quality bike - shock is nitrogen charged don’t add air send it rebuild and add stiffer spring

To properly bleed the brakes you need to pump up the brakes and hold it then loosen the bleeder bolt to let the air out then repeat until they are solid. The only thing you did was put fluid in the rest did nothing.
