So many videos on these bikes, and yours was the most helpful in understanding how the pedal assist worked and the how the gear shift worked. Everyone please follow the ebike rules for your specific trail so they don't ban ebikes from bike trails. The older folks who have a hard time riding traditional bikes now have a way to enjoy the trails too (with a little assistance).

Two things - 1) You can let a little air out of the tires and they work like a pair of shocks and 2) the fast start up you warn about is common for bikes with only "cadence" sensors meaning it senses when you start to pedal. You are not going to see torque sensors (a more gradual response from the motor in response to how hard you push down on the pedals) until you are paying quite a bit more $. Nice video showing how they work! It looks like fun!
@YoungatHeartAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert... yeah after asking on the Facebook group I realized letting some air out of the tires definitely helped the ride. I had it pumped to max 30 psi thinking it would have better range and pedal easier. Also I know exactly what you mean about the cadence sensors. Originally we rented some Citrix ebikes that are stationed around town. They had the more advanced pedal assist and I liked how that worked (although no manual throttle). I assumed these would work the same way. I'm used to it now so it's ok

Forgot to mention, I agree with Tyson below about suspension seat post. (i.e. add suspension seat post in addition to the sprung Selle Drifter gel seat). The Drifter has very functional springs, and they are sufficient for paved road use, but its springs don't have the travel of a true rear bike suspension. Because you are RV'ers and your vid shows you both going over rough stuff, and I saw Jeremiah Mcintosh's vid combining both suspension seat post with sprung C9 seat successfully, i'M betting a suspension seat post combined with Drifter or C9 sprung saddle would be great for the hardtail XP adding comfort, control to the XP making long rides much more attainable and enjoyable.

I know how difficult it is to store the bikes in a vehicle. Try this.. Take the bike seats off. Drop the handle bar stem down. Leave the bike unfolded and back them into the suv. I did this on a Nissan rouge and it's probably smaller than yours, works well. The only thing you need to do is make a brace clamp out of some wood and foam rubber to clamp the two bikes together so they will not fall down . Much less strain on the back😊

If this bike has a cadence sensor like my Samebike XMZ1214 does , then if you pedal backwards it will shut off power to the motor as well . The same as if using the brakes , which could be a much safer way of cutting power in some situations . Try it out , it's very useful . ✌😉👌

Sorry for the delay... I don't think the screen can be removed, but I have no issue folding / storing /transporting the bikes with the screen on (it doesn't get in the way)... the bigger issue is the weight of the bikes which makes them cumbersome to handle when folded.

Left knee was replaced. Right should be. Have neuropathy in lower extremities. Just got mine today. I can safely say this bike is going to really help with my weight gain because of covid staying in. Pedaling is as close to kicking or pedaling in water ... motion without the impact or stress on the joints. I know it's going to prolong having to have surgery in the right knee. Gentle exercise is always good and strengthens the muscles that are needed if you ultimately ever have to have surgery. When I did my left knee For 30 days I intensely built up my left knee/leg muscles prior to surgery. Because of pain I could only do it in water. Bottom line I was like a "Rock Star" in rehab. Went home after 3 days. Had crazy good range of motion used a walker 1day Crutches a couple of days. Cane was all I needed for a very very short while. These bikes will keep us old farts in great shape! I guarantee it. Love Love mine!

How do you know when to shift gears?
@YoungatHeartAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response, I thought I already answered your comment! The shifting works just like a regular bike... it just determines how fast you pedal... eg, low gears for going up hills, high gears for cruising! The shifting is independent of the electric drive... it doesn't affect it at all as the motor is actually part of the wheel hub (not part of the chain drive train). Hope that helps!

Like anything, these bikes have their pros and cons. It depends on what you want to use them for. For us, we enjoy them, they serve the purpose of being able to go for rides around the campground, go on greenway trails, or even ride around the back country roads where we live. For $899 (including shipping), these fit the bill for us without breaking the bank. You can spend thousands on a high end e-bike. For us the pros are 1) Cost 2) Sturdy build 3) Fun to ride 4) Foldable 5) Fat tires for stability 6) Good battery range.... the cons are 1) No suspension gives rough ride, you have to install new seat and seat post for smoother ride 2) Heavy 3) Foldable yes, but difficult to lug around or put in your RV or car because of their weight. We heard that you can buy one of those large plastic storage containers, and put them in, which makes them easier to move around and load/unload from your car or rv, but we haven't tried yet. We follow some facebook groups on this bike and some users have had quality issues. We have not so far, they have performed well, but just be aware. Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and it meets our needs... but wanted to caution you on the cons since it depends on your requirements... let us know what you decide! We will be releasing more videos about how to use the bikes soon.

Thanks for the great vid!! I don't have an XP yet but aiming to get a couple for my newly wed daughter and son-in-law. I have built my own pair of DIY ebikes, but I even if my own builds were even more ideal than they are, I would still recommend the XP. I totally agree with point about suspension seat post (see XP vids by Jeremiah Mcintosh - seat post, C9 Seat). If I may, (especially for your wife) recommend the Selle Royal Drifter seat - a game changer for ebikes especially for people like me (over 65). I have them on my DIY ebikes and I think would make ride more enjoyable (for some reason the brown is more comfy/soft than black (I have and use both colors on my ebikes). So my fave is the brown, but black looks better. citruscycles.ca/selle-royal-drifter-comfort-saddle?gclid=CjwKCAjwgdX4BRB_EiwAg8O8HTqP7Ssdl16KX3Ur3fqxwMzVXSvI6ouk_5UrpAmQwpX5BuPwNJ4osRoCrncQAvD_BwE#92=818 . Allow me to be the first to add a negative comment. Never exceed 10-12 mph when passing pedestrians on a hiking trail. That's one sure way to get the rest of us banned. A lot of purist cyclists - who regularly speed excessively - will be the first to complain about 'motorized bikes' racing on the trails. The casual hikers will also feel menaced by e-bikes flying past them. As you're newbie's, we'll cut you some slack. FTR: my fianceés Lectric will be here in 3 days. I ride an Aventon Sinch.
