First Ride on Yamaha yzf 125 (Test Ride)

Don't see all the fuss about the bike? Great bike, top speed, 80 ish.. It's a 4 stroke, more reliable then 2 strokes and better mpg, more practical and can have some fun on it...

I find 2-stroke reliable, if you KNOW how maintain them (like most kids don't they ride till they break) Now for the 2 stroke 125s with around 30kw doesn't really matter, the police won't put your bike on a dyno if you crash it or anything like that, I drove a nsr unplugged and no one bat an eye.

Yessine B. Why would you recommend a 4-stroke to be a beginners bike? 4-stroke 125:s are weak af and imo will learn kids to twist the throttle and expecting nothing to happen :p But it's all down to preference I suppose, in my opinion 4-stroke 125s are too damn slow,hard to takeover on highway,bad acceleration etc :)

culan001 Yessine B. 2 stroke 125s are faster accelerating but top speed is only a small increase over the yzf r125 they do 85 top end and will do that all day, and as for the u.k where the weather is shit all the time a 4 stroke 125 is a no brainer,yes 2 strokes run fine if maintained well but if its a racing 125 with 30hp it will go bang after a couple of thousand same goes for any racing engine thats pushing the limits of whats possible but for the road, practicality comes first, small 4 stroke engines will over throne 2 strokes one day and this argument will never come up again. also the guy in this video is making the bike look slow by short shifting these bikes go alright when revd to 10,500. which really is 9,000rpm with a sport exhaust and decent air filter. but for true speed do full test and buy a 600.

craig black A 2-stroke is way faster than a 4-stroke the same cc . And 4-stroke engines will never over throne 2-stroke engines the same volume sorry :) Yeah I'm upgrading to a zx6 or yzf r6 this summer :)

if i told you 10 years ago a 125 4 stroke could do 85mph stock 10 years from now, would of you believed me.. think about it. sound good, as much as i like sportbikes i dont wana kill myself lol and there not that practicable for everyday, my next bike is triumph street triple or xj6 yamaha.ride safe.

My friend has this bike now and it is fast and goes about 84mph. Me in this vid riding it i know i'm very slow than normal because the clutch was shocking and had to let it fully out nearly to engage plus my hands were frozen to fuck. And it's my first time on a sports bike style of bike and if i wanted to go past any other vehicle including that lil scooter kid i would of but there was just no need for it when i'm just testing out the bike i have my own bike to smash around on :)

Your not meant to change gears once stopped ( block change) BUT I DO that my self and there is nothing wrong with that its just personal preference and plus the DSA (Driving standards agency) Told me to do that so. the way you just hold the clutch in and then change the gears as you stop, if you did that on your a2 or das licence you'd fail straight away.

GearedEagle It was a test ride so it was new to me and to be back on a 125. It was freezing cold and the clutch was horrendous. I purposely wanted to cruise to a stop with the clutch held in.

I know it's bad that i only wore those gloves but with my big winter gloves on i could not reach the clutch lever that well at all as it engaged nearly fully out. I always wear gear when i'm riding but that was the only time i have not worn bike gloves.

Ok lemme break the whole 2stroke more power argument up once and for all on the fucking internet, most people that ride 125's are doing it beacuse legaly they cant ride more, and its not about the CC but about the power output (11kw) sure, a 2stroke aprilia rs125 is faster but its 33kw unrestricted (or something like that idk really doesnt matter for this argument) But that means that with a licence of a 11kw you cannot legaly ride it, now all you people arguing about power.
