please for the love of all that is holy take some advice. the intakes.... people have said it since last video.... Y pipes. Those L shapes are not helping you get A/F to the outside cylinders....Personally, I would make a 4 to 1 setup with a single carb. much easier to tune, and opens up the option of a turbo later. Ditch the PVC. PVC is not rated for fuel or heat. they will deform and melt and with fuel in the process will transform from intakes into napalm. Find yourself some fence post in the right diameter and weld it, if you are worried about air leaks, you can jb weld over your welds. it's ugly, but will work. Best option, get some 14-16 gauge sheet metal, and learn how to cut and roll your own tubes and make something 100% custom that incorporates all the things you need, like offsetting the carbs to make accessing them easier, smooth transitions from carbs to head to improve A/F transfer, and of course vacuum fittings to help with tuning. Your shifter.... I have literally seen over a dozen comments that were pretty clear about how to do that. You need pieces that move......welding a solid rod to a handle and expecting it to flex is just silly. Your dashboard.... go buy some 1/4 fuel line.... slice it open lengthwise and use some black RTV to glue it to the bottom of your dashboard. before you lose your legs in your first wreck with that solid welded leg removing blade you call a dash. driving in the back yard...... nope. You need to find a place to take that thing where you are not putting yourself or anyone else at risk. you are in too tight of an area to do any test&tune on that thing. I highly doubt your chains will hold up under real conditions outside of the yard, the only way to test that.... to get it out of the yard. Firewall.....that seat..... not a good firewall... if that motor lets go, or those chains let go.....that might be the end. Get some heavy duty chain shrouds. (you can make some out of metal rod, they do not need to be sheet metal.) but you do need a heavy sheet metal firewall...... Speaking of fire.... your fuel system... i keep seeing that kinked line.... please for the love of god.... order a tube bender, a flaring kit and some stainless tubing.. make some hard lines, you can still use the hose material to make the connections, but your main plumbing needs to be hard line. it is less likely to fail from heat...or age and therefore less likely to open up and let loose a torrent of fuel. Final suggestion, get a grinder....learn to use it.... grind those welds. I am not going to make any criticism on your welds....you are on the right path, you are learning as you go and are on your way into a very expensive addiction. A lot of people will talk smack about peoples welds...I don't like to do that, if a weld holds, no matter how ugly it is, you can always grind it to make it look better.... I highly doubt those who judge welds are out there doing any better given the same equipment... but that being said....grind them, make every sharp angle smooth...not just welds, but cut metal, make it smooth......because that jagged piece of metal you stuck under the cart now, that is still fresh in your mind.... you will forget about it and get cut on it a year from now and then you will remember reading this and thing "damn.... he was right." LOL! Keep it up, don't take any of this as a negative, it isn't. People want you to succeed with this, and are offering suggestions based on experience derived from doing exactly what you are doing now.... You can save yourself a lot of trouble in the future by sketching out your ideas and posting them to the community and taking in the feedback. You can take all the returned ideas and come up with the best method to move ahead, all while saving yourself the trouble of having to do it three or four times.....

As you can see, a lot of people are commenting on the difference between the spark plugs and saying you need a y connector for each intake manifold. As an engineering student and a decent mechanic in my own right, I can tell you that the biggest reason for this is because (as you felt) the cylinders are burning at different temperatures. Because the intake manifolds you have are going straight to the middle two cylinders, the outside two are essentially starving for fuel... that's what the plugs are showing too. they aren't getting enough fuel to combust as they should, so the combustion temperature is higher and the spark plugs have to work harder to do the same job. Solution- get a y-type manifold for each carb, or, even better, use a separate carb and air filter for each cylinder (just make sure they are all jetted and adjusted evenly). That will make a HUGE difference on your torque and horsepower at the wheels. Otherwise, keep up The good work. THE BUILD IS LOOKING AWESOME and its sweet to see how far its come.

G'day Migs you went to all the trouble putting a new gear shifter , but still left the gear leaver on the motor with no pivot point, it will change gears a lot easier if you do . Yes it is sounding a lot smoother, you might want to change the PVC inlets to metal ones before they melt , as John & Isaac's did on their cross cart' . Good luck with this , want to see it going around a track ,thank goodness you finally are changing the head studs , was worried someone was going to get hurt .

Heard about your fire fighter quals yet? It was always a matter of when it ran it was going to be a beast! Glad you have worked through the bugs to date. A little expansion about the chain tensioner; they should bear against the slack side of the chain, not the tension or drive side of the chain- top and bottom aren't the important part. Will be interesting to see the plugs now- now that both coils are lighting up, they will probably look all same- fwiw, I'd go ahead and replace the other coil for insurance.FR

I haven’t been following this closely so I probably missed something as to why you’re not used a stock carb setup. However, the only good way you’re going to fix the fuel mix issue you have (super hot header primaries means it’s very very lean) is by going back to the stock carb’s and using the full factory airbox. The stock carbs are CV style and are built specifically to use the factory airbox. You lose significant power, especially in the low-mid range, by using pod filters.

The tensioner needs to be placed on the slacked side of the chain when the chain is under load.. say its moving across the yard the chain will be pulled tight on the side pulling and all the slack will be to the side following.. tensioner goes on slack side so under load it doesnt just get pushed out by the torque pulling the chain tight but instead it will tension as the slack increases on the slacked side under load

If you're going to take it on the tarmac you will need some slack in the chain especially having no diff, even if it doesn't break a stretched chain badly damages the sprockets and a tensioner will have to go on the slack side of the chain which on that one is on the outside top, also the manifolds on the carbs make no difference at all to the fuel mixture air petrol ratio unless they are leaking, colour of those plugs is from faulty spark and running with choke, you shouldn't need to use the choke even from cold ok good luck 🤗
