My concern about the Heat is a lack of scoring. We saw last playoffs Jimmy can lack on that end, Bam can be passive. Duncan has not had a great shooting year and Lowry prob isn't what he was in a scoring capacity. They are very reliant on Herro for scoring and that concerns me when most teams have a better go to guy in the playoffs e.g Giannis, KD, Embiid, Tatum, etc.

This is super subject to change but rn my rankings of least to most likely first round upsets: 8. Pelicans As a Blazers fan I’m rooting for CJ but if they even get a game off this Suns team I’ll be impressed. I don’t see any way they are taking a whole series against Phoenix. 7. Bulls I expect them to get a game off but I’ll be surprised if they get any more than that. This team isn’t built for the Playoffs and without Lonzo they are going to struggle on the defensive end. Giannis is going to eat them alive. 6. Hawks I could definitely see upset potential here but realistically the Heat should win this in 6 at most. They’re just way better defensively than people give them credit for and Trae Young is going to have a harder time against them than a Hornets or Cavs team. 5. Nuggets Jokic alone keeps the Nuggets in contention to win this series but w/o Murray and MPJ and w/o Campazzo for a game I don’t see them taking down a Steph-Klay-Draymond trip plus Poole, Wiggins and Iggy, the Warriors are just too talented and hungry. I don’t care if Steph misses a game it’s not going to change the end result. But I have to give Jokic respect because if there’s anybody I think could drag a team to a win in a series like this it’s him. 4. Timberwolves I expect this to be an exciting series. A bunch of young guys who have never been here before makes this a series where it’s hard to predict what will happen. But ultimately the Grizzlies are the number two team in the league for a reason. They are just better. If they lose this series there would have to be some significant injuries/Covid issues or something because they are just more built for this. 3. Nets I don’t want to disrespect KD and Kyrie, plus Seth and Simmons potentially showing up could make things interesting here. The Celtics however really want to beat these Nets and they have been on fire against top talent teams this season. I don’t expect this to be an upset personally but I can’t deny that any team with KD/Kyrie on it has to at least be given a decent chance. 2. Raptors They have so many long armed guys who can bother the Sixers, they have guys with championship experience and a better coach. If they win this series it would not be surprising. Embiid and Harden are more talented though and if they want to save face at all they *need* to at least win this series. This team was made for a finals run, I expect them to play like that’s they’re intention and not like they are content just to be here. But knowing this team and Harden’s reputation that very well might be what we get. 1. Jazz I think this series is a complete toss up. Especially if Doncic is out for a couple games. Ultimately I think if Doncic stays healthy for long enough they have the better star here but that is a big if. Either way I expect the winner here to get smacked by Phoenix next round.
