I’ve had this shoe for a while now and love it. It’s how the Shift “should” have been. I overpronate but refuse to wear stability. I really think this shoe will suit a lot of people especially for keeping things in place over longer runs.

Is there any reason you don't want to wear stability shoes when you over pronate? Just generally curious as an over pronator
@sagadg12 жыл бұрын
@@TimNguyen825 I'm the same way. The biggest thing for me was the lack of variety on shoes and the heavy feel of most support shoes. Also, I feel like over time my form has corrected itself to account for my over pronation in Neutral shoes as my ankles have grown stronger without that added support. It won't work for everyone though.....
@ptlewis20002 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review. After my faster long run in this shoe today where I normally use super shoes for (and Zoom Fly 4), I have some powerful reactions to this shoe. 1) I reset my expectations realizing how Saucony and the industry does stability. Neutral shoe reviewers say it’s GREAT…. for us people… which is kind of condescending. So I expected a good daily trainer. And it was. 2) This is the closest (maybe better?) to the Nike Lunarglide which still holds my marathon PR. Today was harder than running in my Zoom Fly 4, Hoka Carbon X, or Endorphin Pro, but it was doable and still fun. 3) I need to stop doing fast long runs in racing shoes. For 16 miles this shoe handled marathon pace, a tempo mile, and easy miles just fine. It’s not bouncy like the Speed and it shouldn’t be. This is a lightweight stability trainer to train in! And then race and do speed work in the Endorphin Pro. 4) we are addicted to super coosh and carbon plates and it’s making us weak. For faster runners needing stability, this is the best shoe out there. This is what the Arahi and Prism was trying to be. But Saucony did it better. Just can’t compare this to the Speed as it’s not built that way. And again, shouldn’t be. I’ll be using this shoe for uptempo long and mid distance runs. My next test is long Marathon pace workouts. But not for speed or fast tempo.

Mine arrive tomorrow - Can't wait!! I was in the Saucony Guide for years, switched to Hoka but now Hokas just feel way too squishy for me. I was looking for more responsiveness so I've been drifting back to Saucony. The Speed 2 is my all-time fave, the Guide 15 is WAY better than any other Guide has been but maybe too firm for me so I'm really hoping the Tempus is the answer to my long runs for Marathon training without feeling like I'm dragging myself through sand.

I've got about 40mi in the shoe now & have some thoughts. 1) Love the yellow colour! 2) Not a plated shoe runner so can't compare to those, but def feel lighter & faster turnover than my standard (Hoka Arahi) 3) Runs wide in forefoot (good for me) & I'd say just a touch short (went up .5 & was perfect) 4) Most arch support I've felt in a stability shoe. This is good for me, as most stability shoes assume more flatfooted (I always have to wear Currex insoles, but not in these). If you ARE a flat footed overpronator the arch will likely feel aggressive. 5) This shoe runs hot! Even w/ thin Smartwool socks! Not sure why: forefoot LOOKS well ventilated but hot even in moderate PNW climate. It's a mystery 6) Traction is good in all weather, I'd give it 8 of 10. 7) Price is $10 too much, but you can find discount codes (got mine on Prime Day for < $130). CONCLUSION: most fun you'll have in a stability shoe (can we say "fun" & "stability" in the same sentence?) Already thinking about getting another pair (Campfire Orange looks fun)

Not sure if this is a fair comparison, but I’m looking for a stability daily trainer. Debating on the Tempus and Hoka (Clifton, Bondi, Arahi?). Would love to hear your thoughts on this, and which one you’d personally go for. I’m a mild overpronator with wide/flat feet. Thank you!
@RunLikeHeller2 жыл бұрын
I’m no expert on recommending shoes for different types of feet but the Arahi would be most similar to the Tempus because they’re both stability. Between the two, I think I’d go with this one because it has more energy return and a touch wider in the toe box

I have been running in the Brooks Adrenaline GTS for years (over-pronator with borderline narrow feet and flat feet, bunion on my right foot and mild planter fasciitis right foot). I run a 5k on the road 4 times per week. No issues with them. I want to try something difference. Something good spring/energy and stability. Would the Saucony Tempus be a good alternative to the Brooks Adrenaline GTS? Edit: I tried the Brooks Glycerin GTS 20. I was not crazy about the soft cushioning. I felt like I was chugging along on my runs.

"Breathability". It's odd you felt heat wearing this shoe. As Saucony supposely worked on making this shoe beathable. Supposed to be an opening front and center looking like a USB port. And they did something at hte heel counter. So whether you were wearing warm socks or not....plus, even with other shoes that have a rep for not having a breathable upper...you still can feel ventilation. I felt it wearing cotton tube socks in my Nike Miler 3's...A gust of cool air just blew into my shoes...Which made me question reviewers who say Shoe A has a "hot upper". Are they nerding out? Nitpicking degrees of "cool/breathability"?? I did recall over 15 years ago when I got my first pair of Asics that they WErE "breathable" most of the time even wearing cotton tube socks. They were Asics. While on the topic of socks....if you havent done a video on "breathable runners socks".... do a Top 5...
