Hey man, as a fellow coil swinger I would encourage you to make a full swing over a target. Gold will very often have a little gurgling sound with a full swing over, most trash will be short and sharp. Try it, don't stop the coil when getting a signal, follow through with the full swing and listen carefully to the end of the signal. Trust me I've been doing this for a long time. The best thing you can do is learn how your machine works and sounds on real Gold, always carry a 1 or 2g nugget with you and tune your machine to each ground type for maximum performance. Free tip. But wait there is more, not steak knives either. There is and old school tip I will share with you and your subscribers. When you are out prospecting you have done the research for the area your in, hopefully. The next step is critical for success, we all know about finding ground with good gravels. When you find your first nugget, take a big step back, preferably down hill, look at the lay of the land and the geology. ( we all do that? ). What 95% of people don't do is look at the vegetation. Is there a pattern, is there a line or spaced out patches of the the same trees or shrubbery? I have found multi ounce patches by looking for trees while passing through areas not considered worth a look by anyone else. It varies between Gold fields but is always true.

Nice work Lee, a good fuel reduction burn would do nicely there, but that would attract others and spoil the fun. Happy hunting mate.

Nice going Lee. The 9” worked very well for you. The 10 x 5 would be interesting to run on that ground as it has more pokability than the other coils do. Take care mate 😁👍

Thanks man, it did work well and I guess having that pointy nose on the 10x5 it could access some of those tighter areas👌. Cheers mate.

I found the stock coil was too noisy and had to retune often. The 9" is a great coil, stable & more sensitive. Love it to bits, lots of bits. Well done Lee
@FroggysGoldProspecting5 ай бұрын
Yep same, I ran the 9” in Warwick on the most ridiculously flogged patch you could think of and got 36 bits for 1.78g, pin heads and lots of walking but $200 is $200, the difference is you can run this coil in normal flat out, not so flat out in WA but close.

Great stuff Lee, the 9" round is a great coil, I also run with this coil and after the Tib trip I'm convinced my next will be the 10x5 when I get down next month, as they say Lee ON THE GOLD..

Hey Lee, I said earlier that I didn’t really rate the 14x9 much greater than the standard 11”. What were your impressions. I ended up swapping it for a 17” which I am pretty impressed with for depth. I now need a small coil in my collection, do you think the 9” is a game changer or just a bit better? Cheers Mark.
@SavageProspecting4 ай бұрын
G'day Mark, I like the 14x9 for covering a little more ground but personally I prefer to swing a round coil. I still liked using the 14x9 though. The 9inch was perfect for that area I was in, getting in between tight spots and I found it punched really well. I'd definitely recommend it. Cheers.

@SavageProspecting5 ай бұрын
Thanks mate, oh man that's hard to say because I go to so many different areas. But one of my favourites would have to be Dunolly. Like everywhere it's getting harder and harder to find though. I haven't done much around Ballarat but I feel like I really should check it out.

The coax cable will fail within 3" of the coil gland, probably within 12 months if you dont secure the slack at the bottom end of the coil. I love Coiltek products but hate the failure rate due to crap coax. 4/5 dead coils over the past 6 years.
