My friend who had an accident but luckily recovered and is absolutely healthy now, narrates his story; when he had the accidental injury; right before going unconcious, he remembered his entire life, all his deeds and everything he did in his life untill then.

Funny I am an Australian Aboriginal , 65,000 plus years with any rubbish religion from the middle east or sub continent, I was hit bye car causing me have a smashed right hip socket and 16-18 inch hairline fracture of the skull , I was unconscious for 15- 20 minuets, NO life , all i seen was 2 park lights ( the car only and its park lights on doing around 80k/h through a controlled intersection), then a copper looking at me from above. NO gods, no life before my eyes. The speed and impact of that car should had my brains drop my broken brain bucket and land on the DRUNK DRIVERs lap. 1.5 to 2 inches more hairline fracture to my skull and thats exactly what would have happened. You are all full of shit. No doubt had your minds ruined bye religion.

its similar to a DMT experience, 5 minutes feels like infinity, its really a early taste of what to come after you really die. The earth existed before we were born, we didn't exist before we were born, and the universe will be fine for billions of years after we pass away, everybody will go through their own customized death tunnel of light and fractals

It's completely mad if there's no after life, even before death the body is full of energy and consciousness, the reason we don't remember anything before birth is cos we are simply not created yet, just sperm in a nut sack, but what's not to say we do go somewhere after death

Dying is actually like a divine comedy. First it's the hell (the mistakes and emotions you feel towards it). The worse stage. It's full of anxiety and a high sense of awareness. Wishing. Wanting. Hating. Disappointment. Etc. Pleasant smells that trigger pleasant memories will help the transition to the 2nd stage much faster. Also found that if the dying heard the innocent laughter of children, it will allow them to skip to final stage Second is the answers, the reality, and mindfulness.(the limbo). You are calming down and making peace with yourself. And maybe making peace with illusions of others you love. And 3rd is the acceptance (paradise). This is the final stage and is filled with tranquility as you fade into oblivion. Another way to explain dying is like Drowning. Which is very important you try to ease the person even after the pulse stops. The shift between stages vary under specific conditions. The above are usually based on natural causes. Stages can be skipped depending on the conditions. Like a serious car wreck can jump you to stage 3. And yes this all going on before you fade into oblivion. You can be revived back before the fading occurs. When that happens varies. I have no sources. Just you can say "experiences" in death.

For what its worth, obviously I’m not dead or near dead, but the older I get (close to 70) the more pleasant past memories flood my brain frequently at any given time out of the blue. There are fortunately less frequent painful memories as well. I attribute this to the human condition. When working as an RN, I took care of many older folks and they all had pleasant memories to share with me. I wish that I had had more time to spend with them.

Blimey, I’m in my late 40’s, and my memories cheer me no end. I miss those times, so I’m happy reliving them in my mind. I was raised by my dad and grandparents. My grandad was my everything. I hung off of everything he said. I loved his life stories. He had really lived, you know. I have a real soft spot for elderly gentleman like my grandad. I miss him terribly, even though I lost him 23 years ago. He did get to meet my two sons though, one of which is named after him, Charlie. I think if young people listened to elderly people more, and absorbed their wisdom, life might be a little less painful for them. If my grandad said I was wrong about something, chances are, I was wrong. He just knew best. Thank you for letting me share this with you….I’m not entirely sure why I did. I don’t really say much about grandad to strangers on the internet. You must have triggered my mind, and my memories with him. Take good care. 🌹

Aging sucks and I wish we don't die. Israel is developing a system that delay and maybe later, stop aging by using hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I'm in my early 30's now, and I'm saving for this treatment even if it cost me all my savings. Living for an extra 50 years would be a good thing for me. So this was an MRI simultaneously with an EEG? I’m confused. Update: Having reviewed the original paper, it’s clear the patient was being monitored by EEG alone during the incident. EEG is not a scan. The term scan normally indicates anatomical imaging of some sort, and in the case of MRI for example, sometimes with functional changes such as blood flow that correlates with brain activity. Hence, functional MRI (fMRI). None of this took place in this instance with this patient. Yet the video continually shows what appears to be an fMRI image of the head. This is very misleading. No such scan took place and the image is most likely generic. This is not to say that the EEG information in itself is not of interest, or the original research paper is not worth reading. However, the way the case is presented here is deceptive, clearly intended to heighten interest (and clicks) from a (mostly) scientifically naive audience.

To be fair, the image may be presented merely to illustrate the areas where activity presented at time of observation. I'm not sure, but I don't think a normal MRI even lights up in colored areas like that, I assumed they were all static/greyscale images. Flow on ultrasound toward/away from the transducer can light up in this way, but I don't think electrical activity would have this effect in an MRI. Having said that, they do make reference to a "scan" which is usually used in reference to imaging technologies so your complaint is understandable.

I was about 18 years old, I was surfing 15 to 20 foot high waves formed by a hurricane right off the coast of Florida. Shortly after catching a completely vertical wave my board took a nose dive, I fell off the board head first maybe 70 yards from the shore line, the power of the wave kept me under water, I remember feeling completely helpless as I did cartwheels in a fetal position, I was unable to move a muscle much less swim to the top to get a breath of air, the power of the current was phenomenal, a grim feeling of death takes over, at this precise time my life flashed before my eyes, for those of you who’ve never experienced this before it’s just like looking at a photo album of your life from childhood up to the present time at a very high rate of speed and in an extremely vivid and lifelike format, for me it was events and moments that were very impressionable throughout my life going back till about the age of 4. When the wave finally let me go I was in the shoreline and in about 1 foot of water, shaken, scared, and amazed, it took me a while to realize my shorts were around my ankles.

I had a near death experience when I was a teenager. I was living in the middle-east because my father's work made us move around. One time me and my best friend started digging tunnels in a huge sand dune. You would think the sand would just instantly cover up when digging, but at night and morning there is close to 100% humidity, and it soaked up into the dunes. And the outer layer of sand is a good insulator. Back to topic. I dug a tunnel a bit too far. Longer my than my body. Suddenly I got a feeling or intuition that this might not be a good idea. So I started backing out as fast as possible...And as soon as my legs stuck out from the tunnel, everything collapsed onto me. It had by luck not collapsed around my head, so I had an air pocket. Anyway my friend noticed it and started digging and trying to get me out. Trying to pull someone out covered with lots of sand is more difficult than you would think. Meanwhile my life flashed in front of me, thinking about my family, my grandparents and my life. What I find strange is that I was not struck by immense fear as you would think. Almost like I accepted my faith because I was powerless by myself. Another weird thing. I remember my friend digging and pulling me out constantly without stop...He did finally manage to pull me out.....But he said he thought I was dead and he had tried to run towards our parents and shout for help. And that was quite a distance. He meant he was gone 20 minutes. I do not know if that is true or not, but I felt like I was only in there for like 2-5 minutes.

My father, a very firm principled man, but an equally gentle person, had a direct influence on my life, which in turn had a direct influence on both of my flashbacks. If your good character lifestyle dominates over your bad side, that will come to the fore in your flashback before your eyes. Your very essence of who you really are, and your entire life's memory recall in a matter of seconds! It's quite a remarkable experience!

I don't believe in the theory that psychopaths are born and sociopaths are made. I think people called psychopaths are simply traumatized very early on in their life. If there is "the other side", I hope it's freedom and love for all.

@@Rose_Ou Hi Rosemary, I am really sorry and sad to hear of such an unfortunate life you have had and still suffering psychologically as a direct consequence thereof. As much as I am an empath by nature, I cannot begin to feel your pain. Suffice to say that as a Muslim I believe in the word of the Qur'an, wherein GOD declares that "for every pain, there is ease" and "for every atom's worth of good you do, you shall be justly rewarded" and "each soul shall not be burdened more than it can bear". So, perhaps your every pain you suffered will put you in the league of the elite in the Hereafter. Karma is the great balance of life. That's just my accumulated subjective opinion of my understanding together with my near death "instant life flashes". I sincerely wish you and all those in a similar predicament, especially the children, a change of events for the better. Tc.

It happened with me, i was playing a game with my brother, where i was choked for about a minutes, suddenly after a minutes, my whole life flashed in front of me, from my adulthood to childhood, slowly slowly, the speed of flashes started increasing as i was approaching my childhood memories, the last memory flash i was seeing was when i was around 1 or 2 years old, and my mom was instructing me close the door. Suddenly my brother felt i was not responding so he stopped, then there was white powerfull flash, it took me some seconds to realise what actually happened.

I almost drowned at 14 years of age, panicking then blacking out, then my life up to that time flashed before me, but it also had a commentary explaining how important I was to other people. Then as I experienced a great sense of love & joy about where I (my soul) was going next, I wondered if I could survive to live a longer life. I blinked a few times & came to, got untangled, surfaced & took a deep breath. Turns out there is an involuntary reflex in the throat to cut water off from filling the lungs, but it also causes one to black out. Now ask yourself this; why would an organism make you feel good about dying when the primary instinct is to survive? I came away from the experience having gone from agnostic before to believing in God afterwards. There was simply no other explanation, in part due to the loving feeling of the place I felt like I was going. After that incident many past life memories came back to me including time in between lives on the other side. I think we exist in a very interesting Universe.

I am a medical doctor and I studied NDEs. Life flashing before your eyes explained by a scan that lights up in several places is a very limited understanding of the subject. Consciousness is not local, and its reduction to a brain scan is invalid. Life review is not a linear story but a holographic representation of your actions, and the entire experience - when ends in coming back to life - is completely transformative. Unit of consciousness is beyond space and time and if you want to study it scientifically - you can, but the data is empirical. You combine it from testimonies and power it statistically. For example - you can learn about transcendental vision in people who are blind, some of them - from birth, without any concept of light. Consciousness, without the limitation of the body and mind, is able to perceive the entire hologram of reality with confirmed details, that cannot be explained in any other way.

One part of me assessed the situation and took measures to save myself and another part of me saw my whole life flash before me..wife kids friends family and love. It lasted a fleeting eternity. At the same time I was calculating the acceleration I needed to pass the first lorry and pull in to just miss the oncoming vehicle by a whisker .. I then stopped and recovered.. My body had gone cold..The whole incident must have lasted an instant as I was doing 90-95mph.. The vehicle being overtaken about 55 and the one coming towards me at about 55mph.. I also think both the lorry drivers must also have gone into the overdrive mode to save me from an almost hopeless situation.. I think all our brains connected to resolve the situation.. There is more to us that meets the eye.. I had a similar experience when I almost drowned in a rushing mountain freezing river as a kid

Hi Sandhya....... Thanks for reporting this paper. Yet again your selection is right on mark. I am a survivor, and had NDE too...... I was unconscious for more than 8 to 10 minutes, after I drowned in a huge canal. I went through the life flashing experience, white light tunnel, and piercing pain through the centre of the brain. Its a vivid memory and never can be forgotten. The technicality in the paper therein is quite interesting but the mere neurological objective reduction into data and discussion, through scans and grams, takes away the wholesomeness of the NDE subjectivity. It is a life changing experience, i can bet on that. The Brain-Mind-Consciousness triad is the greatest cognitive instrument evolved in life forms. And study of NDE's are a pointer towards its existence and interplay. Kudos to those scientists, and wishing them more such best of the lucks!

Semi- retired academic here ... biology undergrad, philosophy of science, grad work in linguistics and education ... and living in Japan for over half my life. Just wanted to mention that the rapid flash of life memories need not necessitate a near death experience. The mere belief that death is nigh is enough. During my 2nd year of undergrad, I took a course for licensed SCUBA diving (NASDS), and on the check out dive, I had reached about a 4 meter depth and could not equalize my sinuses. The pain in my head was great, but to pass the course and get my license, I swam over to the anchor rope, and used it to pull myself down, one painful centimeter at a time. Suddenly, the pain was gone, and I thought I had equalized my sinuses. I went down, found the dive partner who had abandoned me back at that 4 meter mark, and enjoyed the scenery. But when we came up and I hit that 4 meter mark, I suddenly became confused as to which way was up or down, and felt my nose tickling, only to realize that my mask was filling up with blood. Being a novice, I thought I'd ruptured my brain or something, and at the moment I accepted the fact that this is where and when my life ends, that split second flood of memories flashed through me. Needless to say, I floated back up to the surface, and he current carried me to the back of the Boston Whaler outboard that held the other students. The dive master had gone back down to look for me. They pulled me on the deck where I laid face-down, waiting to die. After a minute or two, nothing happened, so I sat up, pulled off my mask, and rinsed the blood off my face. The dive masser returned and explained hat I had not balanced my sinuses. The blood vessels lining the sinuses had all ruptured in response to the pressure, and that same water pressure kept the blood in my head until I returned to that 4 meter mark and the blood was free to flow out. The up-down confusion was because the air in my middle ears had expanded, thus interfering with the nerves at the base of those little hairs (proprioceptors) that contribute to your sense of balance. Regardless of the medical explanation, that was at about the time I became less interested in the brute memorization of undergrad biology classes, and more interested in the philosophy of science, and then philosophy proper. As this seems to be a universal phenomenon, this neither confirms nor invalidates any theological considerations, but I can't help but to think that this experience has something to do with my values. @Barry Kelly, there is no average, our good works can never average out our sins. Trust in the finished work of Christ Jesus as He never sinned, He was 100% perfect on your behalf, then took the wrath of God on your sins on your behalf on the cross, then rose from the dead the third day as He is fully God and fully man, the only name under heaven given among men by which we may be saved so that if you repent from your sins and turn from your own good works and believe that His finished work is that which will save you, you can never be lost, but have the promise of the future bodily resurrection and a life with purpose unto the Lord.

Many people suffering from alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia often have severe degradation of the portions of the brain that are responsible for memory. If one has no memory of anyone, any place or any event from their life, while alive, then I would be highly surprised if their life flashed before them upon death. I don't think those severely damaged portions of the brain would suddenly light up upon death.

I tried to fight to swim but there were so much bubbles in the water that I couldn't tell which way was up to the surface. I gave up trying and relaxed...And even at this very young age I saw images of my little life flash before my eyes. It was peaceful. “I had always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn't a second at all, it stretches on forever, like an ocean of time... For me, it was lying on my back at Boy Scout camp, watching falling stars... And yellow leaves, from the maple trees, that lined our street... Or my grandmother's hands, and the way her skin seemed like paper... And the first time I saw my cousin Tony's brand new Firebird... And Janie... And Janie... And... Carolyn. I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... I could see my life flashing before my eyes, alongwith me falling in a huge, deep, dark tunnel, at the end there was a flash and the resonance of my mom calling me by me pet name. I think, I woke because of someone was performing a CPR on me and my BFF was standing by my side, shouting my name, trying to wake me up which I thought to be my mom's voice. Not only that, I have lost memory from about 12 hours before I was put on a ventilator. I had "sedation vacations" the last couple days of coma which I also can't remember. My mom tells me the first one I kept writing my full name and address out repeatedly. The nurses told her it's normal that the patient needs to verify they've come back as who they thought they were. I'm kinda disappointed I had no NDE experience though. I wouldn't have known I'd died at all if my mom hadn't explained why I had bruises from CPR. And then my Dr told me it was more than once...

I've had an NDE and people I love, as they neared death, spoke with loved ones and strangers that only they saw. I don't think they were hallucinating either, their behavior was to relaxed. Hallucinating usually makes people anxious because you are questioning the reality you are experiencing. Those near death have what is more like a vision. They are calm, relaxed and most of the time they are lucid enough to understand that only they can see these visitors and that they will soon die, and they are ok with it all. Sometimes it makes me a little jealous because I miss some of their visitors and I would love to just see them for a quick hug.

Some questions: 1. Does a person see his/her life flash before them when they die peacefully and unconsciously in their sleep? (e.g., a heart that just stops beating) 2. In sudden death incidents, like electrocution, a high caliber shot to the head, big explosions, or any other violent impacts, capable of destroying the brain in 1/100th of a second, would there actually be enough time to see one's life "flashing" before one's "eyes" in 1/100th of a second? 3. Exactly what "eyes" are we referring to here? Because, if a person is clinically dead, then their eyes would be useless, being dead also. 4. Is the Global Scientific Community willing to agree that we can "see" without our physical eyes? 5. If females have more Delta Waves than men, where is the evidence of the greater growth hormones in their bodies that Delta waves are supposed to produce? Women rarely grow as big or tall as men. Why is this if they have more growth hormones in their bodies? And so far, a woman's metabolism does not show greater vigor than that of a man's, especially with the woman's difficulty in burning fat cells. (Because the claim is that Delta waves increase a person's metabolic system, and higher metabolism burns more fat than lower metabolism. This question has nothing to do with sexism.) 6. Finally, I hope you guys are telling the truth about the patient's sudden death, and that his age was not a factor in doing something more sinister and unethical, (did ja kill'em on purpose?) in order to do this study.

Using your brain a little bit to somewhat answer the following questions: 2. If your brain is disrupted to such an extent that a majority of it is completely obliterated, there’s probably little chance you’ll have time to recite all your life events. A computer for example won’t have much time to do work (like saving files) if you just unplug it that fast, or if you break it to such an extent that it brings the entire operation to a halt. 3. We usually refer to “seeing things” with our eyes. Your eyes feed information to the brain, and the brain draws the image. It’s known that you “see” things you expect faster than reality. It’s also known people can have hallucinations and dreams while not actually seeing with your eyes. 5. There’s lots of resources that find that women have higher GH and IGF-1 levels than men. Still, nothing is ever as simple as “I have more X, therefore I should have more Y”. There’s many, many other factors that control how an organism operates. Your body has homeostasis for a reason, and that balance is what keeps you healthy/normal. Men have more testosterone and more lean mass which is a metabolically active tissue, while women have higher body fat % stored especially in the legs for pregnancy. Still, from a biological perspective, there’s no reason to have a “high metabolic rate” unless you’re in a cold climate or have high surface-volume ratio, especially when you’ll need your body resources in case of pregnancy. 6. Hoping is useless..?

I have had many grand maul seizures during the course of my lifetime and started to astral travel outside of my body at a very young age. Each incident was unique to my own perception and leaving the body does not indicate death each time, sometimes we simply leave and return then try to make sense of that experience through dreams. It is how we work through our feelings and personal situations. One OOB was unlike the others and I went to what is referred to as purgatory or a location where my life is examined by myself which is the ‘flash before your eyes’ portion. As blissful as this was, I decided to return to living, reluctantly, but because my life wasn’t finished. There were more things to be learned. In another incident I traveled up a tunnel of light and the closer I got to the brightest area I heard voices speaking about ‘the meaning of life’ and as I approached this ‘voice’, the harder it was to hear what was being said until I couldn’t hear it at all as if this answer I wasn’t ready to know. It was letting me know there was indeed a reason for living life and for us all to do so. We are in a school to learn what we need to advance forward. Every single thing that happens is supposed to happen regardless of how good/bad it is, but fear not, the end is not painful or bad, it’s only the end of one part of us and the beginning of another. Be at peace and know we are all part of the same existence, all one entity, where we are meant to be at all times, and are loved more than we can begin to imagine. Do not fear for your loved ones or yourself, it’s going to be fine. I’ve seen the other side first hand, would never fabricate anything of this nature, and wanted to share what I have seen and know as a result. Blessings to you all! (No, I’m not religious, I’m a spiritual being, metaphysical) This is who I was born to be and we are not all experiencing a mass hysteria. Chemicals in the body do not make everybody see what we do while outside the body. Those who have crossed over and returned have seen the same things in different ways but because we all did see this astral plane is all the proof I’ll ever need to believe that death is not permanent, only that the body we live in dies. It has to, it’s an organic organism and this is it’s very nature. So don’t be attached to it, this will not last forever. Cross over blissfully, unafraid, and prepare to once more see the people and animals you now miss most, they will be waiting for you and always have been. It all happens in the blink of an eye because time doesn’t actually exist there.

One thing that I’ve never been able to explain is this reverse experience where 2x I’m in a tunnel of light but it’s dark on the other end, it’s like this huge dark mass. The only explanation I can come up with is I’m returning to the physical realm and can’t recall where I was before! I’ve definitely had many experiences all of which have lead me to some of the same conclusions as you! They have guided and change my life forever but I don’t really talk about it with people. It’s all about frequency we vibrate at and this “reality” is very dense but we are attuned to it, yet this can be bypassed through different methods. This is only my experience and conclusions, I can’t speak for others.

There are both scientific and also religious explanations for these phenomena, and when dealing with them, they coincide with each other. Just because it can be explained physiologically and neurologically why a person’s life flashes before their eyes when they’re dying, doesn’t mean that God didn’t set it up that way to grant a person one last opportunity to reflect upon their life and repent for anything they have done wrong. It has recently been shown that the last region of the brain to die is the area in which decisions are made. And also that hearing is the last to go, and there is a verse in scripture that says: “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of the Lord”. I know this is true because I worked as a medical chaplain for 15 years and ministered to people on the precipice of eternity. And there were times when they briefly died but came back or were in a lengthy coma and then came out of it, yeah even during that time they remembered hearing me praying for them, even while completely unconscious. There is most certainly more to life than just the nuts and bolts.

See who has cited their papers, where they've worked at, the advancements done during their tenure, etc. Rabbit trail every scientific achievement and a good amount goes back to private industry in the US and other nation states. Most research universities work with undergrad/grad students helping a handful of subject matter experts. In private industry however, you get lifelong subject matter experts helping other lifelong subject matter experts on research that does not have to be published so the results can remain internal to the organization whether it be Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, or an offshoot company by any ex employees. Even the army has limits due to the nature of beaurocracy. It wouldn't be too useful having anyone ranked higher than you in your org openly request results on your work. On the other hand, private companies can deny or accept anyone whenever they please regardless of title or position held in office. Read into the history of Skunkworks with Ben Richard's memoir, "Skunk Works: A Personal Memoir of My Years at Lockheed." Also make use of University libraries. You can see what is the state of bleeding edge tech with research papers and then look up if any other company has licensed the technology or employ people that are subject matter experts in the field. Mere correspondence of brain scans to patterns similar to memory does not establish "life flashing before eyes". Or anything else. You know absolutely nothing about what people are seeing when death occurs. Their life does not "flash" in front of them, I have read testimonials of 10's of thousands of people who had died, and they say they are taken to a room on the "other side" (usually after a number of other places they go to), and a screen usually pops up, the environment is different for each person, one person said it was like a movie theater around her, and all these people say when they see their life review, they see if from the perspective of everyone around you, how you made them feel, they feel everything they did to everyone they interacted with throughout their life, both the good and the bad, and how it affected the people close to that person (like their family). They say if you - lets say, killed someone, you felt how everyone connected to that person was made to feel. It was a very detailed and a long review for many people, and many people say it was the most intense thing they ever felt to see just what effect they had in this world. People who did really bad things say it was horrifying to watch. And there were "light" beings around them the whole time, which most NDE'rs see. But no one ever felt any judgement from these beings, only from themselves. Most doctors are so brain locked to staying ignorant about what people are really saying about what they saw and experienced. However, a growing number of very intelligent doctors and professionals are studying this phenomenon and are realizing just how profound this experience is, since it always completely alters people when they come back. These weak and lame attempts by doctors like this one, to try and explain something they can never comprehend, just show how science has lost its way and stays limited and close minded. If you want to understand what Really happens to us when we die, go and start reading a large number of what people who died have to say about it, they are the only ones qualified to talk about it, not these phony doctors like her who dont have a clue about what they are talking about. get informed or stay ignorant, its your choice. If you are at all interested in knowing what people are seeing a glimpse of where we are going, here are some Doctors to research: Dr Bruce Greyson, Dr Sam Parnia, Dr Eben Alexander, Dr Jeffrey Long, Dr Pim van Lommel, François Lallier, Dr. Raymond Moody, Dr. Michael Sabom, Dr. Margot Gray, Dr. Kenneth Ring, Dr. Ian Stevenson, and many others who say there is an "embarrassment of riches" of the mounting evidence of what is really going on. One last thing, A number of doctors had expressed same opinion that this lady has (like the Harvard Grad Neurosurgeon Eben Alexander), until they had an NDE. That ALWAYS seems to change peoples mind of what really happens at the moment of death, and what is waiting for us after.

@@taraalan1131 Hi Tara, That's a very good question. There have been a lot of reports throughout history of people who had died and woke up after describing seeing lights, beings of light, dead friends and family, and a journey to a beautiful and vivid place. The oldest was a warrior named Er from ancient Greece. But what people report depends on what they experienced in their lives. A small % of people claim to see Jesus, usually religious ones, in other countries people have reported to seeing their religious figures: Buddha, Allah, etc depending on their beliefs. So they are tailored to the individual to make them more at ease. As far as life reviews go, that was just one persons view, it can be as simple as reliving your life in your mind, being in front of a group of "Elders", seeing a panoramic view of your life in front of you, seeing just parts of your life in scenes in front of you. So it usually involves looking at a screen or many screens, but the actual movie theater I mentioned was just one that had struck me that I remembered, but there are many ways, again it all depends on what "they" read from the life you had just lived. But most people who reported a life review did see it on some kind screen of varying sizes in front of them. Details from old NDE reports are not very detailed, and I have seen that the journey in the afterlife does represent what the peoples beliefs were at the time, but life reviews were not described in them. If you are interested, you should listen to testimonials by people who had died, some are just amazing in what they saw.

Just my 2 cents. I was in hospital a few years ago after trying to take my own life, I was in a coma and flatlined and the doctors said I was clinically dead for 2 minutes. I had a surgery and I was put to sleep, I was asleep for hours, and it was just darkness. Months later I was afraid that that what it was like to be dead, no sense of time and just in darkness. I had PTSD from that realization, although I did have a mental breakdown and began to have intense dreams and what seemed like prophetic future happenings in my life, later I saw what was an angel or familiar person surrounded by light who told me everything would be ok. I still wonder why some people have near death experience and only see darkness while others have flashes of memories.

One second I was running, and the next instant second I was on the ground in immense pain with EMTs over me. I could not account for where I had been or what happened during that missing 20 minutes. I didn't even know that I was out for 20 minutes, because for me it was instantaneous. I imagine that is what death is like. Complete nothing. Well if you want to record brain activity I am up for having it done... mind you I may be old but hopefully have a wee while left. I would be only too happy to let them record my brain activity, especially if it helps or gives comfort to anyone else facing death. I used to have regular sleep paralysis, except it happened before I went to sleep, even sitting up sometimes. One time I got so scared, I believe I had an out of body experience. My youngest was lying on the bed with me when it happened and I jumped up and lunged for the lightswitch, but my hand went through the wall and simultaneously I heard Matthew breathing close to my ear and it was like getting sucked backwards across the room by a vacuum cleaner to my body. I know a lot of people dont believe in this but it was nearly 30 years ago and I remember it like it was earlier today. I dont care who believes, all I know, or care about, are my experiences which I know are real.
