I was the same with pregnancy tests! Some people gave me grief for taking so many, but it's just so amazing, I couldn't stop taking them just so I could watch that second line show up!

People have you grief!? We’ll know that I think it’s totally normal to take a bunch of tests! It incredible, but somewhat unbelievable

Right? I took eight in the course of three days and they’re like, “Wow, one wasn’t enough?” Um, no. After having tons of negative tests over the years, one wasn’t enough 😆 Like you, I didn’t feel anything for the first weeks, so it WAS super unbelievable and I just had to keep checking to make sure I wasn’t dreaming 😉

Exactly! Kristen John just shared here finding out she’s pregnant and she did the same thing. People who are judging you must not have gotten pregnant before lol

Maybe a weird question, but I'm curious about the decision-making process that led you to choosing a midwife versus other routes. I'm just doing the traditional doctor's visits/delivery this time, but I'm not a huge fan and would love to have a midwife/possible home birth next time. Maybe I am just super uninformed, but is there enough shareable information for you to maybe make a video on the topic? Thanks!

I personally have a mistrust in doctors. I worry about a regular physician being too quick to use medical interventions. I’ve been learning that Portland is better than others for regular physicians. So that’s good

That’s very fair! My doctor here in Bend seems really nice, but the process thus far has been very, routine I guess? Lots of blood work and appointments that I feel I don’t need, but it’s all standard to their practice and I’d really love to just be able to pick and choose what care I actually receive and I have a feeling that a midwife would allow me that flexibility 😊

I have definitely done a fair amount of blood work (but my platelets have been low). I would ask if you can deny certain procedures if you haven’t. They might let you. At the end of the day it’s your body and your baby, and you should get what you want

Pretty sure smoking around babies can tend for them to get ear infections. So maybe not so weird
