Just got my fist Patchoulol today and it blew me away! ... I love that it comes with a sophisticated earthyness without the yeastiness.

Did a nice leather chypre fragrance based on patchoulol, added in Spikenard and gurjan balsam in the heart of it, just needed a bit of Isobutyl quinoline to give it a bit more of an animalic quality to it in the bass. Turned out pretty damn good though.

I got samples of these new Firmenich tea bases in my last PSH order. I liked the white, jasmine, and keemun but the green so far is very tame. Maybe it will be better out of the bottle. The jasmine tea one is my favorite. I'm glad there's finally some good realistic tea bases around, they are really difficult to make on your own so. I'm definitely ordering full sizes soon!

I really wish patchouli didn’t have the negative connotation it has. A good patchouli can give me chills. I hold it in high regard they way people would Sandalwood or Rose absolute.. I can’t get enough patchouli ever.

I think it just comes down to the beholder. Some love it, some don't. Its kind of like OUD, where some people go bat shit crazy for it...and then there's people like myself who are like "Mehhh.....too dirty for me".

I get chocolate out of the keemun as well as the black tea by Robertet. Even more so with the robertet. A slightly smokey sweet earthy cocoa nuance.

Funny I found Patchouli EO to be surprisingly pleasing, and when I got Clearwood today it smelled great sniffing the headspace on the bottle, but when I put it on a scent strip it just smelled like dirt. I will try it again diluted when i get my alcohol re-up tomorrow.

Me too. Patchouli has a pleasant tea like smell to me at first, then I get the dirt smell on the “dry down”. I only get the dirt smell with clearwood. The clear

You should source some actual kemum black tea to try, it's better than a teabag. 2g per 200ml 2.5-3min brew time in a small 200ml-250ml teapot. Never add milk or sugar it kills the flavour. If it was a teabag of normal black tea I would put milk and sugar in it.

You mentioned CO2 extractions. In general, how would you describe differences in CO2 vs steam distilled EO's? What does the CO2 extraction add or subtract from EO's IYO? To my nose, green tea based are some of my favorite fragrances. I haven't smelled every offering out there, but Bvlgari au Thé Vert and Al-Rehab Green Tea get the nod from me. They both send me to a comfortable, calm place. In these stress filled days, we need some escape, if only for a short time. Two thumbs up on this video! I look forward to future videos on the topic of teas you encounter.

A CO2 is a bit cleaner and more refined than just a distilled EO. The difference is subtle....but it can be noticable depending on the material. What's nice about these SFE tea bases is that they are "super critical CO2" extractions...which basically means they extracted all the good and pretty things about the material....and left out some of the skank and unwanted nuances that normal distillation can bring.

Hi thanks for sharing this information that’s very helpful. I have question I get lots of row material as you’re using I mixed them in alcohol and keep them in kind of clear plastic like tattoo colour bottles and keep them in drawer in dark place they looks so tidy easy to use I’m only consider about keeping Alcohol in plastic bottle if it’s safe? I can send you some photos if you have some kind of email

Keeping alcohol alone in plastic bottles is fine. But I would never store raw essential oils, aroma chemicals or diluted materials in plastic. Always in glass jars....
