Magnificent and surreal somehow it takes us back to a more innocent time imo. It would be great if 2392 were hauling actual freight as she is more than capable of doing. There is a story here of the driver fireman and guard, in the Brave Little Engines mould!

Remins of my childhood watching these J27/P3s and Q6/T2s working the Middlesbrough area. Not fast or really good-looking but OUR locos. I remember this one's arrival at Grosmont all those years ago too! I was working as a volunteer before there was a NYMR!

These guys in their day just accepted the weather conditions and got on with the job they had to do no problem ? No elf and safety glasses gloves etc etc ? just a lot of common sense for safety issues needed when required ???.
