I also enjoy the luxury of having a tractor and being able to put a pallet of firewood just outside my cabin door in the fall to be ready winter. Time on the tractor is what we need sometimes to keep our mind busy when life gets hectic and is good for the soul.

Nice to see you out and about Ed. Your Kubota does a great job. We have around a foot of snow in Northern Ohio now. A few weeks ago, before Christmas, we had several feet of snow from those big storms. That took a while to dig out of that. Looks like the big storm missed us this time and stayed south. Becareful out there. You and your family are in our prayers. Take Care

Condolences again, concerning your daughter's untimely death. I have a level indicator for the bucket on my L2502. I just curl the bucket very slightly above level. Plowing with the bucket in float mode leaves, at most, an inch of snow after moving the snow. I also adjust the top link on the box blade so that the leading edge is just a bit above grade. I've been able, so far, to get the snow off the graveled driveway, while not gouging up any gravel. The last few days have been my first time removing snow with a tractor. It was so much fun that I did the neighbor's driveway as well. The large snow blower has been retired.

I totally agree with the pleasure you find in the "quiet" of a proper snow fall. Just enjoyed it myself with our first snow in PA. More importantly, I'm so sorry for your loss. May you be comforted in your time of sorrow as we keep you in our prayers.

Tractor time is good therapy! You might like to look at a golf cart cover from Northern Tools that goes over your canopy and has zip open doors. They are good to keep the wind off of you. Our prayers continue for you and your family, Ed.

From North Idaho, we had about 5" of snow the other day so I was able to try out the snow tamers (which I purchased based on your video) for the first time. They worked pretty good and I had to make sure the bucket was as level as possible, much better than using just the bucket! I have never used the brakes to steer before, that's a great tip, I'll use it next time. I built a tractor/wood shed combination. It's 12'x16' by 7' high with 2' eaves. I stack all the wood around the back and side walls, leave the front open and park the B2601 in the middle. I hang tarps on the outside of the wood with them rolled up in the dry months so the wood gets air flow to dry out then roll them down in the winter to keep the rain and snow out. I have a tarp in the front that I roll down if it's really raining or snowing hard. The tractor stays dry all the time. Built the shed with mostly salvaged lumber, salvaged trusses, half the roof is salvaged metal, it's been working pretty good. Oh, a couple of the chickens even laid eggs under one of the tarps for a few months. God bless you brother!

Let’s talk Ford Ranger. I had a 2001 Ranger and found that there are two different manufacturer dates. That seriously made a difference for parts!! Not sure if the 2002 experiences the same issue. There are a couple Ranger groups in facebook…they are popular little trucks. I found them helpful. The rangers are notorious for their bedframes rusting away. I actually replaced mine. What ultimately failed for me was the main frame, drivers side right under the back of the extended cab. It split and may have been a candidate for a weld repair… but I needed a hauler so it was ready to go anyway. Material weight is limited….i could handle a half yard of bark mulch but that’s the max weight. Still in my prayers….🙏🏻❤️ You’re good folks….God will comfort you.

My dad had an old, square body ranger (maybe mid-80s), as his farm truck for feeding horses and fixing fences. About a zillion miles and never got over 20 mph.

Every time I see the MCG sticker on my tractor fender I’m reminded to pray for your family 🙏. The snow is beautiful! Looks like those edge tamers really make it “easy” to clear snow without damaging the driveway. Excellent tip for others about the split brakes - I’ve steered that way before too. I’ve heard people say they never use the separated brakes… but I wouldn’t buy a tractor without them! The non-users don’t know what they’re missing. Some chains might help with the snow traction of those R4 tires 🙂.

I have the edge tamers on my 3 series John Deere and keep the box blad on back so I can back piles further and work both directions. We got 13” storm over the weekend and this setup with all the extra weights had no problem pushing snow off our 300’ driveway. You have lots of irons in the fire and I’m sure as you get back into normalcy all that will remain are the good memories. Cheers!

Glad to see you making content again. Condolences again but time is an amazing healer. That Ranger looks sweet. With minimal maintenance and repairs they can run 300k plus miles. Modern trucks are ridiculous. I have a 2011 F250 and there is no way I can reach over the side of the bed to get anything. I finally added a retractable step just in front of the rear wheel on the drivers side.

Such a beautiful property, Ed...even more so when under a blanket of fresh snow. Unless you got more snow later on, I'd say our snow accumulations were similar. Also, I think you are regularly reading my thoughts. Old Ford Rangers are always on my FB Marketplace perusal lists! Look forward to some content on that. Peace to you both. ❤

Pushed the first snow of 2025 with my Kubota B7100 today. I've never seen edge tamers. I need a set of these! For years, I've done a majority of snow moving with the grader blade, and only use the bucket in a few select areas. Edge tamers would make winter life a lot easier..
