Congratulations. You never forget the first one. I had mine in Germany in 2020 (we also fly 3 pattern). Great fun.

I am 41 and I am preparing for the private pilot written test after years of having a desire to pilot an airplane. Congrats on your first solo flight and thanks for posting this, really serves as an inspiration to people who aren't so young anymore but still want to fly!

I'd always thought it would be something I'd do when I retired, but the stars aligned last year, and I have a much more life is too short attitude these days. Thank you for your comment, it means a lot. Good luck with your written test 😊

I'm 53... last year I decided my money was better off being spent than sat on, inflation being what it is. Started flying lessons... kind of a lifelong dream. I recently did my first solo. Best feeling ever!

Well done from a fellow pilot / biker from Carlisle! 👍 I'm often down to Blackpool on maintenance trips with Carlisle Flight Training aircraft. Also, good to see Bob's appearance at the end!

Thank you. Most of my lessons over the last 6 months have been with Bob, top bloke :)

Bob, Mr Banner Man! He used to be an instructor at CFT Carlisle when he lived up here. Top Bloke!

I remember my first solo flight, I think over 20 years ago, but still recall that feeling of being the only one now to get it right. Definitely focusses the mind :-). Additionally I'm thinking of buying a KTM 1290 Adv S next week too and how I discovered your channel. You may have done your cross-country by now or even passed your test.

Unfortunately not, I've slowed the lessons down to catchup with exams, but I think cross country will be next :) Wahhay to a new KTM 1290 SAS, I still can't get enough of mine, all the best.

@@motocrad Love this plane. I'm hoping I can upgrade to the 950. But uncle Sam is pressing me for more money. LOL

Hi, thanks for sharing your special occasion here. Great vid. Can I ask you which 360 camera you used ?

Hi, you're very welcome. The camera is the Insta360 One X3, pricey but brilliant.

Best feeling in the world, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous, but mainly excited and literally on a high. I'd done a lot of circuits, the last lot with little to no help from my instructor, so I felt ready. Good luck with the studies.

Very nicely done. We do three circuits on first solo here in the colonies. Where you are that would take some time. Also ground and tower were on the same frequency. Where traffic is light, one controller does both here but on separate frequencies.

Thank you. The Colonies, I'm really looking forward to getting a full license and flying in different countries, lots to learn. Yes and well spotted regarding the frequencies, Blackpool ground and tower did used to operate on separate frequencies, not sure why they came together.

Netherlands here. My first solo was like this: a single take-off, circuit and landing. Second solo was what us Dutchies call a "round around the church", an hour long flight out of the CTR around the city and back in via another approach route, one that is very easily navigated and very hard to mess up.
@motocrad Жыл бұрын
@Kaasmeester that sounds great, very surreal the first time you leave the circuit. Happy flying 😀
