Very cool! I’m planning my first solo camping trip in September. 5 days around the Olympics. I’m nervous as all hell but really excited.

I started camping on public land (USFS & BLM mostly) outside of developed campgrounds a few years ago and love it. I started out using freecampsites.net to find them but have since learned how to find them on my own. Part of the fun is picking a spot on a map and looking for a nice looking accessible location on public land. If you can catch a Forest Service or BLM office open on a weekday they can helpful. This is an especially good option if you enjoy solitude or just want a spot to camp on a busy holiday. I found a spectacular meadow campsite next to a forest and along a creek in Oregon to watch the eclipse and didn't have a reservation. It is also nice that these "dispersed campsites" are free to use.

Did you ever consider camping in a converted cargo /motohauler trailer?

O yeah are there no bugs there ? My wind shield is covered in about 20 minutes in NY

As a 5'10, 140lb skinny dude with a boney ass... losing weight only does so much. :'( Sergeant Seats are the best recommended replacement for the Versys that I've found.

Dude, Do you have to step on the foot peg like I do to get onto the Versys 650? You packed a good amount of gear on your bike!
@DorkintheRoad6 жыл бұрын
I used the peg a few times when it was all loaded up. I also used the "front kick" method of throwing my leg over.

Every time I watch Dork do that I know eventually I’m going to see that kickstand sink in and he’s going to fall hilariously.

Question unrelated to the video - can you fit your helmet in those panniers?
