€3000 euros/ $3300US is insane for the next mid tier hybrid Sony cam. The last one was around 2500 at most. That would be a HUGE price bump and, unless there’s something more to offer than 4K 120 and a minimal spec bump in MP, I just can’t imagine it happening.

I never told you that it will be definitely this price. I personally also don’t believe the price will be so high. About $2.500 is way more plausible

Schon wieder ein neuer Sensor? Es gab doch erst nen neuen von 24 MP auf 33 MP beim Wechsel der 3er zur 4er. Das glaube ich eher nicht.

Toby -- i've been awaiting the a7v for three years. The a7iv did not quite do it for me: 1) the EVF (and i am using a d810 now with a lovely OVF) is old-tech/ghastly with lags and blackouts; 2) the body/grip is a tad too tight for large lenses; and 3) the stills stabilization is also dated, when they have the 8 stop system they put on their compacts. I think that the main thing is the EVF; you use that for every shot. I do not really need more pixels, and definitely do not wish them if they compromise DR/high ISO, and six-to-ten FPS is okay for this old film shooter. I don't do video. If the new body doesn't upgrade the EVF though i am out. -- gary ray

@@tobyhorn6643 Toby -- Fair enough on blackout if you mean the d810, but i didn't completely describe my situation: the d810 is 5 fps and doesn't have the best AF for action/wildlife (the former for me, these days, are likely trains; the latter BOF). No, for those subjects i use a d500 with 10 fps and the same AF as d850. The a7iv @ 10 fps is "slide show' due to sensor bandwidth issues, and, yes, laggy at that if reviews are to be believed. Also the image size and resolution of the EVF would be a frustrating step backwards from the OVF for me with 70 year-old eyes. I have a Panasonic m4/3 with a similar EVF and barely tolerate the optics. Yet my DSLR kit is a decade old so long-in-the-tooth and i wouldn't mind weight savings . . . . -- gary ray

Also if you would have a better AF and probably a bit lighter setup I would stick with the DSLR setup if it doesn’t hold you back. Most of the weight comes from glass and this isn’t that much less heavy if you compare DSLM/DSLR

@@tobyhorn6643 For tele glass mostly your generalization is correct . . . but one of the reasons i'm thinking mirrorless is that the lenses i use most -- my mid-zoom and wide zooms -- are lighter. The glass options are wider and in general are also better: partly it is the mount, but i think mainly it is the fact that the newer designs are better. -- gary ray

I'm really curious about the ai? Did you sit and do the video in your native language and then use the ai to convert and do the voice over in English? It then changed your lip movements so it didn't look like one of those really badly dubbed Chinese martial art films from the 70's

Close. I filmed a generic video of myself speaking German. Uploaded it to the software. It generated an avatar. Now I’m able to write anything as a script and it will generate a video with lip sync and a shuffle of my mouvments. Thatswhy my gestures are a bit off some times.
