In this video, I show what I had to do to get the 13.5L IT4 engine out of the 9510R ready to go back in. Some extra repairs had to be made after the injectors and timing cover were replaced. Now it is time to install the engine and get everything hooked back up, fluids filled up, injectors calibrated, and then fire up the beast! #johndeere #johndeeretractor #milwaukeetools #snapontools #mechaniclife

I also was watching apprentice Joseph with hand in pinch - no - squash point - the pucker factor was high. You amaze me with your ability to remember all of the many things which need to be reassembled. Always enjoy watching a pro. Marry Christmas!

I hope this is received in the spirit in which I present it. I grimaced every time your apprentice put his hand in a possible pinch point. Putting his hand on top of the motor mount on the frame with the bracket right above his hand was the worst. I know that what he was doing was out of your view so I hope you review this video with him and explain the danger. Losing a finger may not be a career killer but losing a hand is altogether different.

Thanks for another great video ZK. It was interesting for sure. Nice work by everyone in the crew. Monster of an engine to put in the tractor frame. Nice steady work by everyone. Josh was handling the telhandler and Joseph helping where directed. ZK you did the directions and got it all put together. Lots to put on the engine. Wow. Big job. She is running real well. Like that new hood bracket for putting the hood back on. Nice. Nice work ZK and crew. Good step by step process. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

Another great video Zeth and she sure was running like a dream at the end. Love your new hood cradle which looks real handy. As one of your other followers has stated below, there is a good teaching point in the video that you may want to share with Joseph, regarding pinch points when he was guiding the engine in. He is keen to learn which is great but safety always must come first.

We've all done things like it Zack but Josh should've been using a couple of guys to steer that engine and be stood well away from it - if John Deere front axles can shear off - that crane lift could fail without warning. Lovely job on that engine - such a good idle straight from rebuild. Look forward to your next one.

What you're saying is you've never put an engine in any kind of vehicle in your life...got it. You know, they all could have been killed by a meteor hitting the building...you cannot put an engine in a car, truck, or tractor without human beings guiding it into place.
@alanclark639
@alanclark639 Жыл бұрын
@@buckhorncortez I'm probably banging my head against a brick wall here by replying to a comment such as yours - thinking it has a chance of changing your mind but here goes! Are you REALLY comparing placing yourself in an obvious crush zone (incidents that happen many thousands of times per year) to being hit by a meteor? As a space object that actually makes planet fall is called a meteorite - I'll give you benefit of being under educated rather than plain dumb - falling meteorites are credited to hit two people a year - TWO out of 7 billion - can you do maths? Yes, anyone who has worked on heavy lifting has usually guided stuff in while being close - but not dangerously so - in a workshop full of kit to help too - which was my point.

An engine is an engine no doubts. As an European working with German, Danish, Norwegian and French engines, I a m always taken aback by the electrical systems of the American engines. It just sems so, and i am sorry for saying it, cheap. There must simply be room for improvement for all the cabling, connectors and what not? Just saying, happy to get some feedback.
@KALI1080

@@KALI1080 Well, and i am not trying to look down on how things are made in America, really not. But if you look at your counterpart here in Europe, we are some steps ahead of you guys coming to engine electrics. Um, I don't see sloppy harnesses hanging around or simple connectors being used. Especially things like wire nuts if you know what I mean. The wiring is a part of the engine, nicely arranged, bolted into place, with proper connectors and proper protection when needed. The American way, with all respect, looks quite sloppy hanging around and if it works, it works. There is simply room for improvement.
@KALI1080

@@johanea I use to be a technician for a New Holland dealership. They use FPT engines which are designed in Italy and manufactured in France. The FPT Cursor 9, 11, 13 and 16 all have the same style of engine wiring harness as what this John Deere 6135 has. The difference being that there are less sensors on FPT Cursor engines because they do not use EGR. Cummins QSX 15 engines use the same style harnesses. I've worked on Deutz engines too with the same style harnesses. The new JD 6136 engine uses much tidier wiring modules.

@@KALI1080 Good stuff, good stuff indeed. We can have an interaction without throwing shit in the fan sort of. With the data that you gave, and a keyboard warrior would not, I do believe you are or have been a professional. Just being curious, the engines you work with served what purpose? I, my self am a marine engineer dealing with of course merchant vessels such as generators and propulsion for MSC even. I have come across Cat engines and Alco sticking to the American brand. So, I am in Marine and you are in the Marine or Agricultural field? Maybe mines? In sll honesty curious as I know engines are assembled differently for the fields.
