The Nitrogang finally got a new NITRO baby, and I will be reading it in. It's been years since I got something new for myself, so here it is. This is a 1/8 HSP Nitro Short Course from banggood. It runs a nice .21 SH big-block motor, aluminum tuned pipe, metal gears, RTR, 17MM hubs and it's all on a 1/8 scale aluminum chassis. The price is the best part, only $245 bucks RTR with a 2.4 GHZ radio and good waterproof servos.

Absolutely all about how you run it. Nitro Motors are all about proper tuning and maintenance. Nothing wrong with a Traxxas engine. Been doing nitro since the 1980s. Love your channel

That's great. New motor starts up on first pull. I've been running nitro for 20 years I have 7 nitro rc's now. Only ever blew one Traxxas motor in all these years and was because the air filter came off and sucked in dirt. Your a 100% correct take care of your nitro's and they last forever.

hey bro! I'm glad you have confirmed that proper maintenance will almost ever lead to a failed motor, including the typical traxxas horror stories most beginners seem to have. I avoid removing the filter as much as possible btw, always a chance of dirt getting in. It's better to not put after run oil thru the carb than it is to get even one tiny piece of dirt in there.

hey my dude! You are 100% on point! If you look at the listing on this, it says it's a 2-speed. That's a mistake, it's a single gear trans. I drove it after this video at about 50% throttle after a couple more heat cycles, and bro, thing is fast! at half throttle it was not disappointing at all. Will be kicking some electric RCs asses pretty soon.

hey bro! Yes, I think there is alot of misleading and incorrect information about all break-ins. I mean how can we explain that Novarossi does full throttle on their engines for break-in? and yet they are fine. Highly suspect right there. A the end of the day I'd say good maintenance and not getting dirt into the motor is more important than a break-in, thats why we are getting so many gallons of use out of these motors, you know. Time to watch your new Chainsaw engine video.

whats up homie!! Terrific! I have been running this off camera to finish the break in and it's still kicking ASS. Surprisingly this .21 engine is very fuel efficient, and runs cool even with 30% nitro fuel. BTW, pls use the link in the video description for this thing, it would really help me out and I will order more nitros. Banggood refuses to send me nitros BTW, so I have to use my own points from affiliate link sales to get this stuff. They want to make me an E-WORD only driver bro. We cant let that happen.

Lol ive still got my first nitro engine still runs good power lol none of my friends first or 2nd or 3nd work lol am an electrical engineer plus sound engineer plus my dad worked for Sony he was a sound engineer so I think I've just got a good ear when it comes to tuning you really have to have a good ear for it doesn't matter how much real experience you've got my uncle's a mechanic and can barely start is nitro engine

hey bro! You're completely right, knowing how to correctly tune and run these nitro motors is a top priority, and really the best and only way to extend engine life. Generally getting dirt into the motor is what typically happens when apple remove the air filter then get a tiny spec od dirt inside the carb. Gonna be careful of that.

nice comment on Novarossi engines :D. I run mines richer than Donald and have no issues whatsoever. I like the way Novarossi engines are engineered, even on the head button there is an arrow pointing how it should be placed to the exhaust port. And it's not new, but was taken care of how it was running and still breaths strong :D. I also have a RC guru in a form of a 10 year old cat (Maine Coon related :) ). He always inspects my work on any of the models I own. Nice to see the nitro gang pet :D!

hey brother!! Yes, it's always helpful to get a second opinion from you Nitro GURU Pet, I totally agree, cat or dog, they r experts. Yup, the Novarossi engines are top notch, but they failed as a company, so that speaks for itself too. All they had to do was partner with a common RC brand and just put at least one of their motors into any RTR, other than the Serpent Cobra Buggy. Novarossi's stubborn greatness has really let us all down, sometimes you gotta give and take, they just Took, and never gave the common RTR a chance.

It may be time to add a nitro to the collection, haven't bought nitro in 15 years but I still love em. Instill have my savage and original t max, but finding a a good nitro rig would be fun again. I just get too impatient with them, I start to miss that low end torque and throw it on the shelf for a decade. But you can't beat the smell and sound of gas engines. Maybe ill grab up a 3.3 revo or something.

You also want to preheat the engine to 200F to make sure the cillinder properly expands. You should never break in a nitro engine cold since you will remove too much material of the piston because the sleeve is not properly expanding and thus lose engine life and performance

only time i ruined a motor was a jato 3.3 last year, I went full speed into a tree and bent the crank. the rest of the jato was absolutely fine! the momentum of the crash just somehow bent the crank. was a strange occurence.

Personally I have started using a syringe to prime the engine (using the pressure tube come from the exhaust). I always have a bad feeling using the starter on those little engines without them getting oil from the fuel.

Never had issues motor wise with any nitros ive owned. Always kept well tuned, and clean. People complain how RCs are money pits but bash the shit out of them and don’t take proper care of them, literally run them and throw them aside. You might have better luck with that if you go electric but then you must balance the batteries which people fail to do that also 🙄

@@hybrid32494 then you may have lucked out some Dynamite Lipo glow igniters shipped with minimal solder or weak solder on key components. I was not so lucky... I found a video detailing this issue and checked mine out and sure enough I had to resolder mine. Nice thing is now mine will fire off glow plugs other ingiters can't.. Saving money!

Good day hybrid32494. I love the videos. I race rc cars myself but I enjoy the stories and crazy stuff you do. I do want to ask you something. The knowledge you put out is correct but I have never seen you roll an engine. When you are done running a nitro engine you should roll it to make sure the piston is bottom dead, to allow proper cooling and so the piston doesnt cool in the sleeve. Do you do this? And if so inform your viewers so there engines can never die as well. Nitrogang baby!

hey my dude!I'm very glad to hear you enjoy my RC stories and stuff I do, thanks!!. Anyway, yes, I always make sure the piston on all my RCs is not at TOP-DEAD-CENTER. You're right, I will be sure to start pointing this out. There are also many other small maintenance things I do, such as avoid removing the Air filter and Plus as Much as I can, unless it's necessary. This is just a way to lower risk of getting dirt in the motor. Many people will use after run oil, but then they get dirt into the carb when removing the dirty filter itself. Need to be very careful when adding after run oil. Nitrogang!!!.

I was blown away with the availability and price of the parts of hsp 1:10 scales btw; a fuel tank 2 bucks in aliexpress, upgraded clutch? 2 bucks, dog bone cups? 1$, set of 4 wheels? 10$. Hey man, for the most part nothing bad could happen on sand as long as no dirt gets into the motor, as u already kno. Statistically running a nitro/gas ir electric u have identical rates of damage on sand, other than motor related issues. Ive run my nitros on sand many times, same thing. Nothing yo worry about. Just oul the filter and its fine. Nitrogang!!

Hi Dmitri what's up? Actually, Novarossi has quite a lot of "low end" ceap engines under 250$. They are out of business because they were already in bad economic conditions and the covid Lockdown didn't help. In fact the "non competitive" rc scene here in Italy is seriously afraid because Novarossi is one of the few brands that produce cheap but ready to race engines. About the cheap brand engines...i don't know man, a good engine isn't the one thats starts and idle well. A good engine must be capable of consistent tuning and performance through, at least, half of his life...And that's about 20/30 litres of fuel (8 gallons). An example: i'm not a racer...not at all! I call myself a "sunday rc driver" and if i get to go to the truck with some consistency i burn about 5 to 7 litres of fuel per month. My Nova plus 21-4 (200€) lasted 65 litres (17 gal) WITHOUT any bearings or sleeve replacement. Is the sh engine capable of that? Mmmh maybe, but i doubt it.

hey man! welcome to the Nitrogang Channel, you're gonna love it here!. Anyway, it's a basic HSP design, there are some sites which have parts, but to be honest with you, just try your best to not break anything here. For the most part the electronics and engine related items are typical Hobby grade nitro RC parts, you can use anything that fits. Your only issues would be if you crash and wind up having to replace suspension parts. I highly recommend you just not crash and be careful, like I am. you know.

Hey man! This one has a terrific pullstart, but you can run a rotostart backplate. Btw, there is no advantage of a rotostart in terms of performance. This rc starts and runs great, as u saw. hey bro! At the time of this video it was also available in the USA warehouse. This was recorded before the whole COVID situation went down, now times are different. IT's still worth the money even if you need to wait a little. Considering almost all other nitro RC cars are sold out everywhere else too, there really isn't much of a choice, unless you wanna pay top dollar for a new Traxxas directly from them . you know.

The only bad engine i ever had was an Image. You can indeed run cheap engines for years without any problems with the right care. And that goes for cheap cars too, as long as you don't use them as if they're a competition vehicle. I love breaking in engines, and i wouldn't mind if you just pointed the camera at the idling engine for a full tank of fuel. That's like ASMR to me :)
