hey bro! So far the USA-1 has not let me down, this particular one has the super noisy metal gears and clearly the trans does not shift perfectly, will need to check it out. I also still have a brand new in box one ready to go when the time is right! I got this one a while back, Never really told anybody about it, lol. Kind of forgot, too busy living the NItroGang life man, like yoU!

Great video Bro! I just ordered mine, thanks for the coupon code. I'm a 71-year-old beginner to nitro & 2 stroke. I currently have a Losi DBXL 2.0. nitro Revo, nitro Slash & Losi 3ight nitro. The Slash, 3ight, and now the USA1 still need to be broken in. Too hot right now, supposed to be 110 + the next few weeks. I'll spend this time going over them, getting them ready to burn some nitro. Gold shocks was a hop up. Truck came with black plastic shock bodies. I had a few USA-1 in the early 90's ..Great video!

When the camera is underneath you can hear a quick change into third The grub screws have a habit of backing out. Some blue loctite will sort that out, had to do it to mine

He should if he hasn't rebuild it already, shim the differentials because they had horrible play original and almost always stripped themselves. The already stripped counter gear can be replaced with "HPI Drive Gear, HPI86097" and use of a brass tube as a brushing.

From my research so far people have also tried one of the traxxas EZ start assembly gears and they said it fits instead of the counter gear (but seems questionable). Btw I have not progressed on the repairs on the old USA-1 yet.

And also watch I bought one brand new and I've had nothing but problems with the receiver and controller shorting out my steering and throttle servos I actually wrecked the truck pretty bad because the throttle Servo shorted out because of the receiver from Kyosho and yeah so I had to change my controller and receiver and put it but other than that awesome truck

Thanks bro, I can almost guarantee there is probably nobody out there that has the original USA one truck and the current one. I will say the trans needs a little bit of work on the one. I’m running in this video but that is only because I got it used and of course The used trucks generally need work. See you on the next one.

Those are aftermarket vintage Gold Duratrax shocks. Had them on my Clodzilla IV kit. And on the newer usa1 it has a 5 link. The optional kit for the Mad Force says 5 link kit

Question. is there a point to have the glow starter in after startup? Like When I start mine I just remove it

Hey my dude! Terrific question, generally you don't need the glow driver once the engine is running, but if you run RICH like me and with a pretty low idle the engine will tend to take a while to heat up and if you remove the driver too quick it could just shut off on you. Ofocurse with a very good tune, this would not be an issue. For my purposes I tend to keep the glow driver on upto about 10 second until the engine warms up a tad.

@@NorgeSquad yes man, trust me. Keeping the glow driver on for uptown 15 seconds while give it some throttle to warm up is a great idea. It will not ruin anything, just do like 15-20% throttle and it's safe.

Hey man, yes, the gearing needs to be examined in this particular truck. The person I bought it from initially had it converted to the metal gears and obviously, although they are not stripped, they’re not shifting correctly, but it’s still wheelies and still it’s pretty dope.
