I used to be a piping system fabricator before I joined the military and I cannot express how badly I wish I could be there to teach Cleetus. Welding is so fun once you get proficient, and if anyone watching is at all intimidated about learning to weld, I would suggest getting a decent tig/mig machine and go for it! There are a multitude of tutorial videos on youtube to follow and it is one of the handiest things you can learn how to do. And did I mention it was fun?

Just a suggestion: one of the best welding tips that anyone ever gave me was that you need to be comfortable in your positioning before you can ever weld well. Get a stool and sit down comfortably if you can. Love everything you guys do!!

Little advice when tig welding aluminum is you either want a blunt tip or a balled end on the tip of your tungsten. A balled end can be difficult at low amperage because your arc tends to wander so a blunt end works great. Make sure to always keep your work piece and tungsten clean. Hope this helps McFarland fab in the future. Keep boggin deep brother😎

I do a bit of mig and am wanting to learn TIG so I can do aluminum so I've been watching lots of vids etc. I was sure I saw them all sitting down, specially on small parts. A guy with a local shop does camping trailer frames in my building and he has a little wheelie seat he rolls around on. When MIging I always like to rest my forearms on the bench or workpiece.

Cleetus idk if you read comments but I’m actually been following this channel for right around 3 years I believe. When I started welding school actually, you need to not only clean the metal with a dedicated abrasive sander for the specific metal your using as well as filling the pipe with inert welding gas if your doing say two pipes butted together. I hope this helps a little keep up and the good work man and protect your skin, welding will give you cancer I’ve had coworker with friends losing collarbones. Love your content keep doing it for Dale. Raising hell and praising Dale hell ya brother.
