I want to thank you Michael for these podcasts.I'm currently under indictment in Superior Court in the state of New Jersey.I have a court date coming up this coming week.I'm in somewhat of a unique situation in that I'm free on non-cash bail.I'm sure you may have heard about it.Its also refered to as criminal justice reform or bail reform.I can't speak on my case b/c it's still going through the judicial process.However I will speak on the fact that a state prison sentence is a very real possibility for me.The podcasts give me some hope if & when I'll have to surrender.Keep up the good work.

Do you get extra good time for being in a camp?
@PrisonProfessors4 жыл бұрын
No. Sorry. The system doesn't work that way. Why do you ask?
@andrewdaniel24454 жыл бұрын
Prison Professors I’ve read that you get 3 days a month for the first 12 months and 5 days a month after that. “Extra good time” But it might be prior to 1987 in the old laws.

I heard there is new law 65 percent of time instead of 85 is this true
@PrisonProfessors3 жыл бұрын
Sadly, that's not true. The new law you're referring to is called The First Step Act. It provides an opportunity for people to serve a portion of their time on home confinement. But it's different from good time.

@@PrisonProfessors Does the First Step Act apply to non violent first offender sentenced to 1 year 1 day at lompoc federal camp?
@PrisonProfessors3 жыл бұрын
@@learnthrivecompassion422 Yes. The First Step Act applies to all people in federal prison. Some people may not qualify for some provisions, but it is a federal law, and all people in prison will receive some benefits.
