Well, what in the hell are they gonna do about it besides make a video stating the obvious because as far as I’m concerned, the BOP is holding my husband hostage because they are not doing their job and getting these guys out when they’re supposed to and it’s sickening. We need Help!!

Is the requirements to earn ftc credit towards your release only for low and minimum or is it going to change for people who are medium and high?

Are District of columbia federal inmates eligible for this? I keep seeing a law that passed in September of this year that says we are.

The First Step Act (FSA) is in plain text and clearly using language such as “ SHALL” the case managers at BOP are clearly breaking the law by not implementing the FSA as clearly written and with the intent of congress. BOP can no longer give a “ Reasonable Interpretation of the law since the end on the chevron deference. So we ask BOP director to stop playing around with peoples life’s mass incarceration was not the answer. The recidivism from the Carea Act and the FSA has given BOP very fact based evidence that these inmates that qualify for Home Confinement should be released as the FSA explains in plain text. STOP PLAYING GAMES WITH FAMILIES AND AMERICANS THAT DESERVE A CHANCE TO RETURN TO SOCIETY. GOD IS WATCHING AND GOD GIVES AND GOD TAKES!! ✝️

You are absolutely right! The word “shall” is the strongest word you can use legally. I learned this from a lawyer giving a real estate class about our new contracts that realtors use and the word “shall” is all in them.

Let me try to simplify this first step act thing to anyone who wasted time watching this video. What you first need to understand is the first step act somehow hurts the BOP‘s bottom line they are vastly against administering the first step act. The second thing you need to understand is that it doesn’t matter what is said in this video because an inmate still has to have a good relationship with his case manager for any first step credit acts that he earns to be applied. That alone makes my point because at the end of the day if your case manager in the BOP doesn’t like you you will see no such credits. Why do you think that is? It is because the BOP does not wish to apply these credits to inmates. I was a federal inmate at FCI Hazleton in West Virginia my crime, which was 922G or affectionately known as a felon in possession of a firearm qualifies for first step credits, but I earned none why because the BOP does not want to give it to almost anyone who is eligible When you are eligible, they hit you with a curveball called high recidivism. If you are deemed to have high recidivism, you will be earning credits that will never be applied to your sentence. But what the BOP will tell you is that as long as your recidivism goes down to low, then you can earn time credits off your sentence, but your recidivism will never go down to low because you have to complete various programs that you will be on a long waiting list for, the federal Bureau of prisons does not have parole and they are overcrowded. Inmates are having to do 85% of their sentence so each program that an inmate is involved in is overcrowded with a long waitlist so you never get into the program or finish it this is a perpetual cycle of a BOP is in charge of.
