its a bit buggy (speed shoes+ leafs+ invincibility and going through a pipe apparently did not work for me a couple times , it would make me go walk in them only for me to get spit out if i pressed the opposite direction of the pipe) and i did have some crashes. ( when i nearly died from beating a boss and it had to register both me losing rings and the boss dying) tho i say crash i mean more of a error message that only halted the game. the game itself didnt quit or anything i just had to press okay on a error message and i was back to playing ) But the game and the art are both amazing. even the music :)

So far amazing the 2nd zone act 1 was a bit too long but other then that my favorite level was the city and the boss for that zone CHEFS KISS

1 note that makes knuckles WAY more interesting in this game. all of his momentum carries into his glide. this was never before done in previous games. you can pull off INSANE glides with this tactic.

This game is a perfect understanding of Classic Sonic design. Give players a stage and a selection of actions that get you around it in cool and varied ways. Repeat. Sonic is made of pinball physics and slopes, it's SUPPOSED to be fun enough just moving from A to B.

3:24:50 I think what happened here is that he held a direction on the stick before jumping, which causes Sonic to do the short jump meant for getting on other rails instead of the normal jump, he likely didn't know that since he took a really long break between this video and his last one and forgot most of what he's learned, including how crouching on rails speeds you up So, sure it's technically on him for forgetting/misunderstanding the mechanics the game already taught him. Either way, it's extremely messed up he had to make an apology video about being bad at SA2 3:37:34 Here he did that thing where Sonic stops at the ledge, and to get out of it you can press jump, and because he didn't see that coming he pressed jump and instead of jumping he ended up walking off the ledge, even that gets me from time to time despite playing this game so much It's definitely a skill issue (partially)

I'm sorry but I'm gonna be honest here, I don't get the appeal to Sonic Mania, it didn't impress me in 2017 either, it copies Sonic 3 way too closely, limitations and all, I know this is an unpopular opinion but I much prefer Sonic Superstars as it fixes many of my criticisms with Mania, more originality, playable Amy, improved power ups (I really like the emeralds powers), engaging boss fights, the return of Fang and a brand new adorable character Trip as well as Metal versions of Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Trip, it even improves tiny nitpicks I have like being able to switch between characters between levels, it's just a better game and is made by Naoto Oshima, the only area I feel Mania was better was the music.

Update on the guy playing SA2, he rage quit Mad Space (understandable), then beat the game and enjoyed the ending and final boss and the story (but probably wouldn't play the game again)
