Being a warped, frustrated old man myself, I always measure twice and dip once. Thank you for your thorough, entertaining, and very informative (truthfully) review and overview of another product. Laughed and learned - loved the bluetooth bit. Audiophiles love the bluetooth! Can't wait for your death match.

Flat cables do aethetically work better under rugs, but you are forgetting that speaker cables should not touch the floor. Due to static fields, speaker vibration transmission and resonances. Speaker cables pressing against something on their bottoms AND having a rug on top of them is double jeapordy. They do sell cable trestles, also known as cable risers, cable elevators and ssnake oil, that raise the cables off the vibratory static field of the floor for better sound. Or you can use those white plastic round things that the better pizza parlors place on their pizzas, so the pizzas won't stick to the top of the box if dropped or accidentally gets turned upside down. I think they're called pizza anti-risers. Some of the cable risers they make lift the speaker cable high enough off the carpet, that you can vacuum underneath them, just don't hit one of the trestles with your vacuum, as we've seen overnight what could happen if a bridge trestle is hit, and we don't want another Baltimore.. So tragic.. I have applied for a patent for desktop speaker cable risers, which are tall enough to shuffle your papers underneath and taller than a soda can, or how tall hamburgers used to be, so it doesn't limit your desk items, or cost you one iota of desk space. Not all speakers are wireless. As for putting speakers up on the wall, they suffer from early reflections and wall coloration; that way. However, I know a retired circus clown, who has hair of burnt orange on BOZO, I mean BOTH sides of his head, who is an audio isolation expert, and has his speakers suspended from the ceiling. He said watching the trapeze performers gave him the idea one day. For the most part, only the ceiling is vibratory that way. The amps on his floor do not suffer the ill effects of speaker vibration rattling their circuitry; necessitating the purchase of all kind of costly isolation bases. VPI, the turntable manufacturer, has started making vibration bases again, for a retail price of $1,500 and can be seen and purchased on the net. Now according to my clown associate, who is currently sick in bed with spotted fever; he says that even with the speakers hooked up to the ceiling, some of the vibration does make it down to the floor. Since turntables are particularly sensitive to any vibration, he says he would never have his turntable in the same room as speakers; with all that vibration going on. So using a long interconnect through a partially opened window; he has his turntable on his porch. It's close enough that he can open the window and bend over and change the records. He's a loner and trusts his mailman not to steal his turntable. The only problem, he says, is that the wind can play havoc with the anti skating; and if the wind is bad enough; it can make the cartridge skate clear off the record. He lives in Cleveland, and despite not being named The Windy City; it IS windier there than Chicago Look it up on the net. Hope this helps!

It turns out wooden bridge supports from kids wooden railway systems like Brio make excellent cable risers. My little darlings can cry all they want, but they are not getting them back. I just tell them to shut up or they are going back under the stairs with The Monster. Daddy needs his pinpoint imaging.

Road Racing Sets used to come with trestles too, so you could do Figure 8 layouts. Road Race sets were the first time I think I ever did any so called tweaking They used to market these little bottles of liquid that you rubbed on your rubber slot car tires. There were 3 different variations; all of a different color, and I assume formulation. There was MOO One, MOO Two or TOO, and MOO 3. I tried them all, and forget which one worked best on my individual rubber. They would indeed increase the traction and make the slot cars go faster...for a while. And then after a while the wherls started spinning like the car was caught in an oil slick. The sticky MOO formula on the tires would eventually pick up enough dust from the slot car track to make them spin in their own tracks without moving; or should I say MOOving! Also you could fiddle with the braided contact brushes that made contact with the rails, on the underside of the slot cars, and that sometimes made all the difference in the world as far as their speed; once you replaced the MOOed up tires. 1/32 and 1/24 scale were the coolest and they stayed on the track much better than HO. I do occasionally put up a train layout in connection with battery operated cars, trucks and even boats at Christmastime. But what were we talking about? I lost my TRAIN of thought. Oh yeah, Instead of telling your kids there's a monster under the stairs, it may be more sensitive and politically correct to tell them there's a big fat toy collector, similar to a tax collector that hides under the stairs, and if you're not good or have too many toys or trestles, he'll either snatch your toys away and give them to The Goodwill; or try to bake you in the oven & eat you like the witch tried in Hansel & Gretel. That might be more. sensitive

@@sidesup8286 You are probably right. I will try that with the young one who has nearly finished medical school. He loves his trains, but getting him to fit in the understair closet has become a bitch. Also he's now bigger than me and does weights.

Any good for playing digital piano through and vsts and also casual fun music enjoyment? Not sure whether to get these or the actual lp6s, in5 or in5 unf. Too many options, reason why I thought one of the UNF options would be best is because I am very close to the speakers if I place them on top of my piano, that easily arms length, and that’s a cool place for me to put them I think as they’ll be ear height facing me on top of my cabinet digital piano.

I have a question about interconnect cable. You mentioned reduce imaging with longer cable...did you mean just speaker positioning (too far away will creat image on its own rather than keep as 1 united) or loosing part of audio signal in longer wire. I plan to get LP UNF longer cable just for my corner desk setup, 5 feet cable isn't long enough for my needs.
@scientificaudiophile5 ай бұрын
Yes. If you need a longer cable to weave around, then definitely get the 8’ interconnect.

Great video! I am considering these to replace some really old m audio studiophile dx4s for my desk. The m audios barely fit on my desk so space is at a premium here, and the kalis are a little larger but I think I could cram them on there. I am going to run them with the Presonos Eris sub 8 I have. Do you think these would work well? I'm going to be enjoying music at my desk as well as some light mixing as well.
@scientificaudiophile5 ай бұрын

At the same price point, if I were you, I’d make the decision on form factor and the fact the Fosi runs off USB power only. The advantage of the K11 is more power, specifically from the USB.4mm balanced output. Good luck.

you measured speakers in untreated room? lol heard about resonance frequency? this bump on 80 Hz looks like resonance cos' this system shouldn't have this kind of frequency response.
@scientificaudiophile5 ай бұрын
I measured in my treated room, the black at the bottom is Owens Corning Acoustic Blanket up 3’ across the side walls. Mic @ 0.8 meters. But it’s not an anechoic chamber and distance to the wall could definitely affect the results at such lower frequencies. Erin’s Audio Corner also reviewed and below 80 hZ his drop off is smoother, so I’ll be more careful measuring in the future. Thanks
@hellyeah_tv5 ай бұрын
@@scientificaudiophile not enough to put some panels in random directions. if you want to be accurate or close to accurate in your measurements you should measure and find all resonances in your room and eliminate them. every bedroom producer know this but audiophiles ignores this knowledge same as you.
