It's very probably that no team would beat the Celts without Porzingis 4 times in a 7 game series. But now if they add a Porzingis who's healthy when the playoffs come? It's gonna be cruel to watch. Playoff teams shouldn't lose by 25-30 to other playoff teams. But I'm almost sure that we'll see that kind of blowouts in the playoffs this year too.

Totally agree. Many teams in the NBA are stuffed with offensive talent. But not one team comes close to the Celtics ability to play defense Their top 7-8 guys are all great 2 way players.

@@mrenga If you look at Dallas, none of their stars play defense. Klay used to be a good defender, but she and injured have caught up with. Luka has never even tried to play defense ever since he started playing basketball.

The achiles heel of the Celtics is their attitude towards defense - during regular season, it is not as tight and stringent. It's altogether a different defense in the playoffs. But the re-entry of KP alters the Celtics dynamics completely. Now, even during this regular season, the defense elevates.

Don't compare Jrue Holiday to LeMelo. LeMelo is taking a big step up to become a top scorer, but he's on an awful team and taking whatever shots he feels like. None of the games matter, and so really none of his shots matter. Holiday is a key part on a championship team stuffed with scoring talent. So he has dialed his game way back to elite defense, floor generalship, and scoring when his awesome teammates are actually having an off night and he has to step up. Both Holiday and Derek White could score 20+ per game easily if they were in LeMelo's place. But I am not sure LeMelo could step into Holiday's spot on the Celtics and help them win consistently the way that Holiday can.

Exactly. And everyone non-stop mentions Celtic 3 point shooting, and KP will increase that and make the offense hum even more. Fine. But it's Boston's defense being top tier is what makes them an unstoppable juggernaut. EVERY one of their top 6 are elite 2-way players. And Pritchard is no slouch as well, just a little undersized is his only real drawback.

Yep, that "Achilles Heel" has taken them to a 15-3 record, and counting. Against the undefeated Cavs they pretty much dominated the entire game. I don't care how they do it. The way I understand the game, if the Celts have more points than the other team when the buzzer sounds, they get the W.
