Conor surprised me. This kind of reminds me of Rocky, because conor didn't have to win the fight to "win" it for himself. He walked away with pride and joy, knowing he went 10 rounds with the champ. He may have not gone the distance like Rocky, but the vibe is similar
@100ovrbatmanbron7
@100ovrbatmanbron7 6 жыл бұрын
y'all are making it seem like it went 10 rounds because Floyd couldn't hang. he was baiting him in the early rounds, tiring him out and studying his game plan. once that was done, Floyd went into full attack mode. this strategy tends to result in a later round win. it has nothing to do with the opponents ability to persevere.

Any idiot in these comments saying "rematch in the octagon" needs to realize that no one claimed that Floyd could beat him in an octagon. On the other hand, Conor and his drones were talking shit, saying that he could beat Floyd in a boxing match, which as we just saw, didn't work out. So please don't make a fool out of yourself with asinine suggestions such as telling a 40 yo Floyd to fight in an octagon.

No, he is wrong. If he qualified his statement by stating if Floyd fights a certain way in he would be correct. Instead, he made an absolute guarantee that McGregor wouldn't land one punch and he clearly did. If Floyd just literally stood still and took the punches he would still be wrong as he didn't properly qualify his statement. His analysis may have been correct mentally but his public statement was definitely wrong.

Same reason Floyd fans are making excuses why Mcgregor got 111 punches on Floyd when he wasn't gonna get a single one. Its called backpedaling to not be as embarrassed. I'm a Conor fan and knew Floyd would win not by damage but the exact reason he did which is Conors stamina issues. You can tell at the beginning of the fight Conor wasn't going for the power punch trying to save his energy and it still failed him. Both amazing fighters and gave a great show respect to both.

Even if that is true...that's illogical. Had Floyd knocked him out within the first couple of rounds fans still would have felt like they got their money's worth and all of the boxing fans and Conor haters would have LOVED IT! I would put money down if there was a poll taken the majority would have wanted to see Floyd end it as early as he could. It happens in MMA frequently and Conor has been the one to do it the most after calling it before it happens. I've seen and paid for every single one of his fights that he's called the knockout and I have never felt ripped off. I wouldn't have felt ripped off Saturday had Floyd knocked Conor out in the first or second round either and I was rooting for Conor.

Karey Morgan, trickedout4sho, babati gosho. I can tell that you guys haven't seen a Mayweather fight. Maybe you saw the Pac vs Mayweather fight and forgot that Mayweather only let Pac land 81 punches! Maybe you forgot that Mayweather made Pac throw UNDER 350 punches instead of his regular average of 750 punches per 12 rounds. My whole point is that people said Pac vs Mayweather fight was BORING! Knocking out Mcgregor early was not the smart thing to do because people would say well that was expected. BY LETTING Conor land the first three rounds that made the fight interesting. If Mayweather came in and BOXED Conor from the beginning you guys would be say oh it was boring because Mayweather didn't go toe to toe. Instead in order to ENTERTAIN the boxing and MMA fans. Mayweather KEPT coming FORWARD ALL NIGHT LONG! He stood right in front of Conor to LET him hit him. Watch other fight by Mayweather he doesn't even let his opponents land because he is constantly moving his feet. However for this fight Mayweather STAYED FLAT footed and kept coming forward even when Conor was landing. In fact it was Conor that was moving back a lot more while Mayweather kept coming forward.

Ok I think Max's opinion is right like 80% of the time, but this is where Im glad that I learned how to box and how to spar because I know what holding back looks like. I've done it before, Max has NEVER done it before, so he doesnt understand the movement even when he sees it. Floyd's not getting better I agree, but I'd say half if the fighter Max said he believed could beat Floyd now I think Floyd could still beat them. The fact of the matter is, Fooyd was holding back until round 10. He's a pure outboxer and when outboxers fight offensively, they dont fight like Mike Tyson or Marcos Maidana where they throw and move around with their hands on their head ALL THE TIME like he was from rounds 1 to 9. Floyd keeps his hands low. He mainly just started doing that in round 10. I promise you people that the more you think about it, the more it'll make sense. But I dont know does anyone else disagree that Floyd was holding back throughout most of the fight?

They just don't get it, Floyd feared pacauiao's power that's why he was evading him and was WAY more defensive, because he knew manny could knock him out. But with mcgregor he had no respect for his power which is why he was walking him down and as a result was taking more punches than he did in the pacquiao fight. He became the chaser instead of being chased. TBE.50-0

That WWE superstar was a legitimate amateur wrestler with an NCAA championship and a freak athlete. He wasn't beating anyone on the feet. He had no striking. He was bullying guys with his massive size, weight and strength advantage. GOOD LUCK to ANYONE stopping a juiced up 280+lbs Brock Lesnar from taking you down. But eventually his 1 dimensional style was exposed. And lets not forget he won his title from an Old randy couture who was like 60lbs lighter.

just2raw4yall Woodley has great wrestling though and I would say he's a lot more explosive than floyd so it's the threat of being taken down by him combined with eating a huge counter shot if you tried to take him down that caused hesitation to engage.
@ASalv188
@ASalv188 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think people are considering the size/ weight difference. If you fight/ box you would know how much this makes a difference in how people fight. If you fight and you're a counter puncher, you'll know how hard it is to learn the timing and distance of a guy who has a reach and in this case maybe even a speed advantage, people don't understand, smaller fighters need to get on the inside and press the issue if they can't outbox from a distance which is literally what happened...

Conor easily won the first 3 rounds, but looking back at it, Floyd used those rounds to figure out Conor. He knew Conor would have some funky techniques, stances and movements. 4th and 5th, Floyd and Conor both went at it but Floyd's experience shone through in the end. You can tell McGregors body is too conditioned to 25-minute max UFC fights, because he gassed in the 8th (24th-27th minutes).

We get him around the sixth or the seventh. He lasted a little longer than we expected, but I stuck to the game plan.

You're WAY off about Conor's cardio. In MMA Conor is actually known for gassing out around the 8 to 10 minute mark, but since boxing requires far less cardio than MMA, Conor was able to last far longer than normal. Although Conor fought for 27 minutes against Floyd, that comes with 9 minutes of rest time between the rounds, which is vastly more rest time compared to MMA. Conor's cardio is actually laughed at in the MMA community.

he was gassed in 5th which was mostly because the ref was wrestling him but Floyd did well too fighting the mexican style cause his normal style he was getting picked apart. funny Floyd didnt figure out how to avoid that right to the body in the 9th and straight left in the 6th that buckled his legs. Floyd has a great chin tho. I gotta give him that. somewhere midway through he threw the right hand and Conor connected right on his chin with the left over the top. he catches everyone with that and Floyd ate it. Floyd didnt figure much about him. just that he likes to throw that uppercut to counter Floyds stragiht right and thats when Conor started looking for the left over the top

First off, First Take are retaded for underestimating Conor and overestimating Floyd. Secondly, Conors success is getting getting exggerated and Floyds performance isnt getting the credit it deserves. McGregor only won 3 rounds convincingly and thats because Mayweather literally handed him those rounds because he knew Mcgregor would punch himself out so he can knock him out in later rounds. Thats why Floyd barely threw anything, it was very obvious what he was doing. I give Conor a lot of credit, he showed a lot of heart but take away the illegal back of the head shots, the rabbit punching, and all the gloves/arms he hit and he didnt do much. He landed some good punches but hes longer, younger, and more active, that was expected. The reason why Floyds performance isnt getting the credit it deserves is because this guy is literally 40, had a 2 year lay off, barely any sparring, and still managed to walk down athe bigger, longer, younger,knockout artist with 8oz gloves until he knocked him out. I mean whos really done that to Conor? Even Nate had to finish him on the ground. Lets stop acting like Conor is some bum off the street and give Mayweather his full credit...Thank you

It was awesome to see how floyd changed his fighting style so fast to just snuff out mcgregors offense though. Entertaining fight

I would argue that Floyd started "fighting" in the 3rd round and I believe the statistics supports that. And Conor won it. I would also reiterate what Max said about Conor's power. I see a lot of pro-Floyd people saying Conor has no power. Conor didn't load up as Max stated because he knew he would likely miss and get countered. Conor can punch hard. The hype on his power is probably too high, but the idea he can't hit hard at all as some say is ridiculous.

I don't agree with in all term but what you guys didn't see was that Floyd actually prepared just for that fight the way it was supposed to. He didn't work on the speed he work on power and endurance because he wasn't going to be facing a boxer so and he said he was going to go in to fight. Remember age plays a big factor with a younger and fast guy like McGregor. He needed to build muscles so he can take bigger punches even you thought there s not power behind the punch yes there is a lot power but he train to be able to take punches with those type of power

LMAO... Floyd carried the first 3 rounds. And took over from there. The amount punches don't matter. Manny probably won 2-3 rounds against Floyd and Conor won probably 2-3 as well. Manny hit Floyd with way more force than Conor could. Therefore CONOR did not outperform Manny. Plus, Floyd fought a style the causals like, where both guys take on damage where Floyd's actual genius is that he dishes his own punishment and doesn't take much from his opponents. Conor didn't win. He got TKO'd. Something that no MMA fighter as ever done to Conor. Conor was finished.
