I love reading all the wisdom on these pages. Every once in a great while a great organization comes along and puts a great run together, for 2 fringing decades the Patriots did it, just like, the 49ers, the Steelers, the Dolphins, the Cowboys, The Raiders and the Redskins, this is a tough league to win in. But every now and then we are lucky enough to see greatness and witness something wonderful as football fans. I'm grateful I was able to enjoy there run. I'm a fan of the game and the talent in it. and when it comes together for a team and they play that well for that long. Kudos to them, from wherever there from. Enjoy it !!

Agree with SA - the last thing he needs is another QB that needs to be developed. He has shown that he can still coach up a defense, but he needs help with the offense The Chargers are the best fit - Herbert will take care of the offense & bill will bring the defense

as a pats fan since 1988 we are going to be bad again for a long while. thanks though to tom brady, and bill belichick, even though i think brady was the most responsible, any how they made us the greatest franchise in football and gave us more than we could have ever imagined especially after how horrible we were bar one year where parcells got us to a super bowl we got blown out by. so back to the bottom, but i can never be sad about it because we were the best for so long, 6 sbs, 17 division titles, 13 afc title games. i mean just insane. the greatest dynasty ever

Over the years New England always had a few key cornerstone players at stood out to make All pro or second level second alternate but I think the main thing was that he made everybody accountable and knowledgeable about their job was and what their expectations were. Yosemite times that they never had the best team man for man as far as matchup but he made great games and good progress with people that were very good but not necessarily great he did a lot for a lot of the players

The Patriots' success during that dynasty was comprised of so many elements. And they won in different ways. In the first 3 championship years, they had a defense that carried that team, especially in the playoffs. In 2001 they had the Tuck Rule Game, then went to Pittsburgh and picked off Kordell Stewart 4 times, and Troy Brown nearly single-handedly won them that game. In 2003, they faced the two co-MVPs, Steve McNair and Peyton Manning, the Patriots forced a combined 8 turnovers and allowed 28 points. In 2004 they held the Colts to the worst point total they ever had in the Manning Era, and then destroyed a Big Ben-led Steelers team who had 14 straight games and had crushed every opponent in their path. In Super Bowl XXXVI, they held the Greatest Show on Turf to 3 points in the 1st 3 quarters, before winning 20-17 thanks to Vinatieri growing his legend just like in the Tuck Rule Game. Super Bowl XXXVIII was a track meet between Brady and Jake Delhomme, which ended with YOU GUESSED IT, another Vinatieri game-winner. Then in Super Bowl XXXIX, they took an Eagles offense that led the NFC in scoring and picked off Donovan McNabb 3 times. Then in their next 3 championships, it was Brady, Gronk, Edelman, and a solid supporting cast around those three that carried the load. In 2014 they went against both Andrew Luck and Joe Flacco in their primes. Brady out-dueled them, plus they had a few tricks up their sleeves. In 2016 if it weren't for DeflateGate they would have been the first team ever to go 19-0 which they almost did in 2007. They destroyed both the Texans and Steelers on their way to Super Bowl LI. Then came the signature moment of the Patriots Dynasty. Down 28-3 against the Falcons, all the elements that made those teams great kicked in. Tom Brady picked apart a Dan Quinn defense that wouldn't stop playing zone coverage, and Belichick coached circles around Kyle Shanahan in terms of late-game playcalling. The result was the most iconic comeback in NFL History. In 2018 just like in 2001, they were doubted the moment they stepped into the ring that postseason. What happens? They blow out the Chargers in Foxborough, AGAIN! And then Brady outduels Mahomes in the AFC Championship at Arrowhead. And just like what he did to Mike Martz in Super Bowl XXXVI, Belichick exposes every flaw in Sean McVay's system. The Patriots held that offensive juggernaut to 3 points in Super Bowl LIII just like they did with Peyton Manning in the 2004 Playoffs. In conclusion, you can say that this was all Brady this whole time, but I definitely don't see it that way. This was a combination of Brady, Belichick, Pioli, Scarnecchia, Casario, Kraft, and all of the coordinators and assistants they had on staff. You don't win 6 Super Bowls, and 9 AFC Championships over 24 years based on one player. Football is the ultimate team sport, and the Patriots during that dynasty did their jobs both on the field and in the front office better than any team in any era throughout NFL History. Its hard to see the Hoodie go, but it was time.

A dark horse candidate for Bill’s services in my opinion are the Buffalo Bills. If they have an early playoff exit, keep an eye on them. The pieces are there and more importantly the QB is THERE. This cooouuuld happen... but not for the reasons you're stating. #1 - Ain't no coaching Josh Allen, dude is a loose canon, a wild horse. He does what he wants. If that's not obvious by now then just watch last game vs. the Dolphins. That heave into the end zone while running and jumping to his right? - yeah.. no other QB in the NFL is keeping his job after that. That's not what Belichick wants. Josh Allen has all the talent in the world to be the best QB in the league, but he's more like a chess savant - he does what he wants, when he feels like it. No discipline in his game.. And. Sticking it to the PATS? That's egregious. He has no reason to STICK IT to the pats.. tomfoolery..

So it's not "is Bill better than our existing coach?" 1. Is Bill better - likely yes 2. Can our team win 20 or so times within the next two to three years with Bill? 3. Can our team absorb his kids? 4. Can we see a super bowl in three years If not, he's not worth the hire.

It's 50/50 Belichick / Brady. Belichick is the defensive mastermind (which made Brady better and more able to read defenses) Brady was the offensive mastermind. (Which made Belichick better and more able to read offenses) (This comment aimed at anyone giving one more credit than the other)

Brady has a winning record, two division titles, and a Lombardi without Belichick. Belichick is below .450 without Brady with one playoff victory. Belichick's career winning percentage is more than 66% higher with Brady than without. It was always Brady.

@@MikeHarvey-ol7xr what excuse do you have for the 8-9 record Brady retired with in TB?
@MikeHarvey-ol7xr

@@chrisn5079 He was 45 years old, going through an ugly public divorce and saddled with Todd Bowles. He still won the division and accomplished more than Belichick ever has without him. You're acting like Brady was the one that went out 4-13. Brady: winner without Belichick. Belichick: loser without Brady. Simple as that.

@@MikeHarvey-ol7xr wrong. They won TOGETHER. that's what I've been saying. If Brady was so good and coaches didn't matter, he would have won every game in TB. (Go see my posts about how TB made a huge mistake by making Bowles HC in Bradys last year)

@@MikeHarvey-ol7xr oh, also Belichick went 10-7 without Brady in year 1. Made playoffs. Year 2, almost made playoffs with the SAME record (8-9) as TB. Year 3, it was proved that Mac Jones sucks. (Which I called from week 5 of his rookie season) he had a great rookie season, but like most round 1 QBs that have great rookie seasons, they end up busts. (Literally 80%+ of the time)

What was he without Brady?? I remember when it came out that they could win with any QB. Well we found out what that would look like! He was a great defensive mind.. but.. the Patriot way is Tom Bradys way! Js

@dc81503 brady was the 199th pick in the 2000 draft in the 6th round. Basically today's version of brock purdy. People act like brady came into that team with rings on his finger. It was the other way around.
