Stephen A. Smith welcomes Channing, Fred and Ryan into his home for a special edition of The Pivot.
Working together at ESPN, Ryan and Stephen A. talk about how their relationship got off to a rocky start and how the two men were able to eventually figure it out and come to good terms.
Never one to hold back his opinion, Stephen A. shares his thoughts on topics ranging from his personal life to Kyrie to James Harden partying to the Iverson days to taking over "First Take" from Skip Bayless. The former college athlete details his journey into sports media and growing up in a household of women who were his toughest critics.
"I never dreamed in my wildest dreams that I would be in a position where I'd walk into an arena and be more popular than 90% of the players," Stephen A. tells the guys as he opens up about his current stardom.
Ryan talks about some of the more controversial stories Stephen A has sounded off on over the years including Colin Kaepernick, race issues and being suspended from ESPN.
Rounding out the conversation, Fred talks about making mistakes along the way and relationships with athletes as Stephen A says: I don't try to protect players from being accountable, I try to protect players from being character assassinated for who they are,".
Prying about the mysterious personal life of Stephen A. and why that is something he chooses not to share with the world, Channing says, "Why not talk about it, I mean I've seen your house, I'd date you". The First Take host jokingly responds, "I never ask anyone about their personal life, ever, So I don't answer questions about mine."
New Episodes of The Pivot release every Tuesday at Noon eastern with special shows on Fridays.

I've watched this interview three times already and every single thing that Stephen A said is a gem, especially when he talked about the media industry. As someone who works in media in my own country, I aspire to get to the level SAS is in terms of sports commentary, being connected, articulation, trust from sports players, managers, executives and owners. I'm glad that First Take is now being shown in Africa because I could listen to this man's commentary everyday.

There has been no Pivot Podcast that I haven't loved. My expectations for Stephen A. Smith's interview were far exceeded because I'm so used to seeing and hearing the loud opinions of him on his sports shows. To see him more tranquil in his home and be adamant about keeping folks out of his personal life was refreshing as hell. I'm proud of these brothers because I've always loved sports and this platform is the 'barbershop' version of sports that most female sports lovers can be a part of. ❤

I see a master class in how to be successful without all the hype -we see most successful people in their lives- listen to what he is saying, I mean listen.
