As someone who came back to watching NBA since the 1980s and 90s, one thing that makes it less attractive is it feels more like a corporation about money than it used to. As a company, that's always been true, but it feels less like the sport and a bit more like the business now. Fans watch sports not business. Constant trades, and all about odds, betting and gambling, trying to milk fans for every dollar they can, undermines the pureness of it being about the sport first. I watch NBA for the love of the game of basketball.
