Claims Jordan would average 40ppg in todays game are legit when you watch this. Everything looks so precise, intentional on the offensive end. It's almost as if there are play calls and an offensive structure, not this high screen and 3 point heave shit we have today. The fact these guys just get on with it without complaining is so refreshing. I'm so sick of the bitching after every call.

You should be watching the entire 4th quarter. Without question - the best defensive effort I’ve seen from a wing for a quarter. Jordan chased and ran Reggie off of everything. Jordan understood - if he shut down Reggie - Chicago goes a long way to winning. It’s the best defensive effort I’ve ever seen from a wing - a 35 year old in game 7 of a conference finals. It’s amazing

This is one of the best ECF series i've ever watched. The commentary and overall presentation was just as amazing as the game. Bob Costas was fantastic when it came to his commentary and analyst of these games and i've never believed that the players today were bigger, fast, and stronger. If anything, evolution in basketball players has gone a bit backwards in today's game. They are fast but , not faster and strong but, not stronger. They seem to be smaller and have no other basketball skills besides shooting 3's and flopping when penetrating to the basket. Players back in the 80's and 90's are much bigger, taller, and stronger. The tallest players today come from other countries and not America.

Nah, as much as i loved Reggie Miller and the Pacers, they would've been out coached by Utah. Utah back then was just as tough and gritty as the Pacers and they had the experience from the 97 finals. @vitezjura8 сағат бұрын
I actually watched the whole game yesterday, couple of things I noticed, yes, Kukoc was "soft" but not that soft. He was getting attacked by stronger bigger guys all game, it was tactic by Bird to get Toni out of the game. Luc Longley really stepped up and defended Pacer's centers and helped Toni stay in the game. Toni scored a lot in 3rd quarter but decided to give it up to Kerr in fourth who rewarded the Bulls with a clutch 3. Then they closed the game with defensive lineup, took Toni out again and played Rodman. Jordan couldn't hit midrange shots so he attacked basket again and again, he actually turned the game in the fourth they were starting to lose with a tie in DUNK! Went through defense. One crucial detail, Bulls had double the rebounds than Pacers and at one point had 20 offensive rebounds to Pacers 3! That is how they played game seven, they didn't outskill them they outhustled them. Also Pacers are a huge team compared to modern so you can imagine how many rebounds Bulls would get today lol Shout out to Pippen, there's never been a better defensive player in NBA history and you can tell by how he moves and switches on defense from his man, to help Toni double, back to his guy. Buechler also, underrated, he would today be praised as a 3 and D guy.

The bigger, stronger faster NBA of today actually has the shortest average player height for the last few seasons (6'6 to 6'7'') since the 1980s. Peak weight in NBA was the early 2010s, it has gone down on average almost every year from that for the last 10 years. Now players are only about 10 pounds heavier than what they were in the 1980s and 1990s. Anybody who goes back and watches some 1980s and 1990s basketball with some fresh and open eyes will immediately see that this "pipsqueaks and plumbers" lie about the era is preposterous.

Excellent job. I watched almost every single Jordan game from 1991-1998. I recorded them VHS at the time. To me Pippen was not a superstar player, he disappeared on a lot of important games, if you checked Pippen stats from 1991-1998…he had seasons where at least 20 games he scored less than 10 points. In some games MJ was 40-45% of BULLS OFFENSE. On this series, if you compared Pacers vs Bulls players the Pacers had better offensive players than Bulls and they were equally matched on defense. Smiths,Dale and Antonio Davis, Jalen Rose and Mckie, Mullin, Mark Jackson, Reggie Miller. How could Bulls beat the Pacers, they got a guy named Michael Jordan.
@ijamorris9 сағат бұрын
4:55 MJ passing Kareem for all-time playoff scoring? Nobody cared. That stuff was NOT that big of a deal back then because it was more about WINNING. I used to love the one to one high low PG to Center back to PG on the baseline for the midrange jumper play as a youth when they still coached it. It literally opens up everything offensively starting with the ball handler who then would start the wheel for the corner three as the last option if everybody is covered, point being, movement and spacing creates the open look. Isolation ruined the NBA and created the "point forward". Great play by Smits and Jackson. Great video, glad I got to watch an actual basketball play to start the year.
