Its pretty absurd to imagine that Lotus ever thought they could sell this car to anyone who wasn't an experienced track driver. Hopefully you can iron out all the little issues with it (it is British, after all), since the educational value with a platform like this is obvious and extreme compared to the average FSAE car that an underfunded/under-sponsored university might manage to field.

For a first time out in the real world, with a system of that complexity, and all involved having limited experience, y’all had a extremely successful outing. Congratulations to all involved. Hope y’all followed this with a debrief with notes, as to what to and not to change, especially, in regard to procedures. On screen telemetry of your track time, would be kewl, and I think help in evaluating the car and driver.

Crew Chief should have a small whiteboard and 3x5 cards with prewritten phrases on them in case your comms are screwed up in the future. Then you can point, write or draw to communicate while the engine is running.

My favourite all time F1 cars is the John Player special F1 car (Lotus 77) driven by Mario Andretti. Black and Gold really suits a F1 car. You can argue it's full on cigarette advertising, but come on, it looks incredibly cool.

Question here, the car following the crown from my understanding is a setup with a lot of toe out. Is that correct? I've always been told toe out makes the car twitchy but more responsive on turn-in

Yes they have a clutch, but it is only Sef to start and stop. There is an I gnition cut for upshift and a pneumatic piston to bump the throttle on downshift. It won’t downshift unless completely off the throttle. Made to go fast only.
