Here's the issue I have with people dumping on Bill for losing after Brady left. I believe this shows that the real problem was Kraft. Bill wanted to dump Brady back around 2017 and go with Jimmy. Kraft pretty much blocked that and Brady stayed a few extra years and won them a SB. That was great for Kraft, but it stuck Bill without a real succession plan for when Brady left. If Bill was allow to dump Brady when he wanted to and transitioned to Jimmy G, I think Bill would have continue to be successful. He would have had a QB that understood the system and managed the game while letting his defense being the winning force. Kraft forced Bill to keep Brady, and in the end, that screwed up Bill's plan. Then Kraft blames Bill for all the recent losses. As far as Kraft telling Blank, I have no problem with him not endorsing the hire, but I don't like the wording. He could have said that Bill's not your guy; his way of doing things won't vibe with Blank's personality. To say that he should not trust Bill is a little too much. You had no trouble trusting him for 20+ years. Dude milked his wife's death and started dating someone 40 years his junior, and in 2019 got off on solicitation, because the videos weren't admissable in court. I'm not a fan of either men, but Kraft seems to be the more untrustworthy of the two.

Bill gained 2 superbowls from that. If anything Kraft saved Bill from making the worst mistake of his career. Jimmy couldn't even stay healthy when Brady got suspended. His career is full of injuries on top of missing the most important throws. They were never going to win a superbowl with Jimmy G if they barely won their superbowls with Brady. Andy Reid would be the GOAT as we speak if Kraft didn't stop Bill from making the one of the worst decisions in NFL history.

Dumping Brady for Jimmy was a stupid idea though. That is the flaw there. We see how Jimmy panned out, that play wasn't going to get them to another ring at all, Brady got them two more. Then Bill turned around and handed out the most guaranteed money in free agency history shopping for players, but like 80% turned out to be bad deals. Oh yeah that QB he drafted in the top 15 of the draft, he decided to give the kid two failed head coach’s who specialize in special teams and defence to be his co offensive co-ordinators. I say all that to say this, we have always given Bill the credit that “he’s the coach and the GM; he built the rosters to make the team successful” but then we are going to flip it all onto Kraft when Bill has made bad decision after bad decision after Brady left? However, they knew people would see them as bandwagon fans so now dumping on Kraft is the perfect excuse for most of them to leave under the guise of “not backing this owner”… We already know Nick’s angle in all of this. Anything that makes Bill looks bad, makes Brady look better which hurts Mahomes chances of being the GOAT (not that I think he will ever achieve that). The patriots just need to forget about drafting a first round QB this draft, and take Marvin Harrison Jr with that #3 pick. Brissett is a more than capable stop gap, and it gives the team an actual dangerous offensive threat for the QB to throw to which we haven’t had in years
