Mustering of Isengard seems so good! You have the free march in the beginning, berserker’s, crossbows, and shield wall for normal shield troops!

Annoyingly ): though I’ve only played this list 2 times now and only against elf’s (highest courage good side army) and won all games. so I’m sure it’s easier vs men etc

Loving the content recently, I’d love the black gate to get a new mouth of Sauron and Troll Chieftain! As an elf player I’m not super hyped to play any of their pure lists apart from Mirkwood but with the other factions for once I’m a lot more intrigued like some of the Gondor lists, men of the west, Rohan’s and a lot of the the evil ones too which is a positive

Yeah Mirkwood definitely seem the best of the elves atm (and probably most fun) but the other two are missing more toys from the third book like the twins, Glorfindel and haldirs brothers also hopefully it will level out...

Been loving these breakdowns, really excited to try that new Isengard List with the one use spells. Also haven’t see the new movie, but the first wildman list sounds very fun. Can’t wait for mega buffed beard boys

That's where all my models are, it's just home made and printed onto sticky paper. Unfortunately they don't sell the cardboard boxes with the same spec any more...

I think the problem is, from the conversations I've seen & been part of online, you've got Evil players going "my army list's lost most of it's units!" and Good players replying going "Yeah, but there's all this cool new stuff like [examples from *Good* armies/profiles]", so people are shouting past one another and people on the sidelines are going "this'll probably be fixed when _Armies of Middle Earth_ comes out... at some point". Lots of heated opinions! But even with pointing out the Evil-specific upsides - of which there *are* some, I agree - there was still a lot of "not super competitive" and "they've lost a lot of options" remarks in this video, and it feels like the Evil lists came off a lot worse for that in these initial army lists, from what I've seen of the Good lists. So I wouldn't be surprised if there's still a lot of arguing until this other book comes out!

i think most is because movies focus on good sides more then the evil, and i'm oping that it will be not the same with the more book focused third book, and it will explore the depths of some evil factions that right now feels laking

Yeah I'm hoping the third book fixes a lot of these problems. There's some I'm really excited about but they're mostly Hobbit related - Three Trolls, Gundabad, Goblin Town but they need less from the third book so 🤞🤞

Yeah they're in the third book that has been announced but it doesn't have a release date yet... They've not gone to legacy though so they will be there!

I think morannon orcs should either have hatred man or +1 fight against men. Both is too much for the points

I think it's a leveller for Gothmog and Guritz being made worse and Zagdush and Goroth being removed. I'd like to see how it plays 🤔

I don't think the heroic combat with the Mûmakil will be nearly as good as it sounds. If a Mûmak is in combat, it will most of the time either be fighting more models than it has attacks, or it will be fighting a hero that can beat it. Possibly both. Even if it's only fighting one or two warriors, it will be hard to get a good angle with it, since it's not allowed to pivot after the heroic combat. The army will give us some amazing stories, but I doubt it will be that crazy in practice. If the army does become top tier, it will be because of the general war beast buffs, not because of the army bonus.

This is all very good points! I guess what it does do maybe is mitigate a fluffed trample. If you were to move last and failed to trample that first guy, you've got a chance to remedy it. But all your points above are very true!

I'm wandering, minas morgul list where it says mordor orcs get blade of the dead. Why it doesnt apply to morannon, because at the black gate list it says mordor orcs get a +1 to wound if you outnumber your opponent, but you can only take morannons orcs on that list. It doesnt really make sense. So either bladed of the dead on all orcs or in the black gate list that rule is nonexisting. If you know what i mean.. let me know i'm curious to what your thought are!

The difference is the wording. MM The Dead City: ">Mordor Orc Captains< and >Mordor Orc Warriors< gain the Blades of the Dead Special Rule." Notice that it uses the capitalized Mordor Orc Warriors, as in reference to the specific profile of that name, and not all Mordor Orc keyworded models? BG Hordes of Mordor: "Friendly >Mordor Orc< models Engaged in Combat gain a bonus of +1 to-" where here it uses the passive lowercase 'models' to say any models with those keywords mentioned - Mordor and Orc. I agree it is slightly silly though. The different army bonuses vary wildly in their application and effects. Minas Morgul not wishing to use all Morannons may just be an attempt to separate it from Army of Gothmog and the Pelenor lists. At risk of sounding like a cynic, they need to sell both boxes of models after all.

What happend to the easterlings ? Are they gone or in another book ?

They'll be in the Armies of Middle-Earth book, which should be out soonish. I don't think there's a release date yet.

The only Easterling units you can take for the time being are in the general Mordor list, and it's just Captains and foot troops.
